Hi everyone  I have never come to this section before, but I thought I'd check it out and see if I'm alone or not! I'm 24 in December, I have a 17m DD and I'm 15w pregnant (different FOB). My DD's "father" has never met her and never had any desire to, despite my efforts, so that's a lost cause.
This baby's father was getting controlling and verbally abusive and pushed me as far as he could a couple weeks ago to the point where I tried to punch him and he charged me. I was thrown in jail for the night, worst experience of my life, so here I am again as a single mom.. with baby #2 on the way. I'm so scared, I don't know how I'll manage two, so close in age all by myself  FOB will likely end up with visitation, so I'll great a break from one sometimes.. but that in itself will be hard as DD never left my side!
Anyone else a single mom to two little ones, or going to be??

Hi :) I was a single mum to a 2 yr old when I found out I was pregnant with baby 2.
I was terrified! Scared i couldnt cope, worried for my eldest.
But now it's like I've always had two babies. I love the fact I have two children, when they are nice to each other that is.
I very rarely get a break, when I do I have to leave the house and my brother babysits, which is difficult. I've been sleep deprived for 5 yrs, ud think I'd be used to it haha
U will be fine, because u have to be. Unfortunately for us ladies we can't have bad days, because no one else will do it for us

Thank you so much :) I think that's what I was looking for.. just to hear I'll be fine!

You will be :) of course it's scary.
no one in a perfect world wants to be alone while pregnant, but I found it so much easier lol even with looking after my toddler.
I found keeping my son involved in my pregnancy helped him so much, and me!

I've got a 1 year old 2 in dec a 3 year old and 7 yr old and preg I find some days hard but like the other lady said u just got to get on with it u will be fine I dnt get a brake always have the 2 little ones with me :)

Wow bluelilly, you've really got your hands full! I'm glad it's not impossible to do. I am excited to see how two so close in age will bond! Thanks girls :flower:

Hello! :flower: Where in Ontario are you? I'm from there too.

I was confused about one part of your question - will FOB # 2 have visitation to both children, or just the one who is biologically his? Are you worried at all about him having them unsupervised seeing as though he was abusive towards you?

I'm in Kitchener, just moved here recently :) FOB#2 will only have visitation with his biological child, not my DD. I can't say I'd be worried for the baby's safety, he never treated DD badly in any way at all, so I take comfort in that much. It's just the thought of him/her being away from me :(

I used to live in Waterloo :) I love the KW area.
I'm glad you aren't worried about the child's safety, that would be my main concern. No one abusive should have any rights to children.
Do you have supportive family, friends you can stay with?
I have no experience with two little ones, but you've been given some great advice here and I'm sure you'll do great :flower: don't be afraid to ask for and accept help from others.

I'm actually lucky enough to live with my parents in an inlaw suite in the basement, so help is always just upstairs if I really need something. I'm settling in to the idea now, I'm not AS scared.. I've raised one alone, surely I can do two :)
