Sitting up before rolling over...Anyone else?

Hi all,

Just wondering really I know rolling, sitting, crawling kind of comes hand in hand, but LO can sit unaided, but still can't roll over, back to front or front to back!

Maybe she never will, I always thought rolling was the first skill the sitting?? just wondered if anyone elses baby skipped a skill, picked it up eventually, or just went on not doing it xx

Lucy has been sitting up unaided since about 5.5-6 months... but is no-where near rolling (either way) or crawling.....

my LO is 34 weeks (8 months) and can sit unaided and stand holding onto a table or whatever....but no matter what I do he will NOT roll!! he rolled front to back a few times in anger a few months ago, but now is totalyl disinterested in rolling. he was 5 weeks early and is pretty large now so im wondering if that doesnt help. Ive given up worrying as sitting is more important i think x

My LO was sitting unaided at just over 5 months, but has rolled over a grand total of once.
He is 8 months old.

Millie has only just started rolling over in the last few weeks but has been sitting up for ages x

Omar was sitting unaided before rolling over. He started to sit unaided at 5 months & after 1 week he started to roll over from back to tummy, at 7 months he was pulling himself to sitting then after 1-2 weeks he started to roll over from tummy to back.

Frankie can sit unaided now for quite a while, at just 5 months. He hasn't rolled yet but I do think it's close. I've heard loads of people say the same, some whose children never rolled as babies!

Shes 5.5 months too, and now she knows she can sit theres no other way to be she rolls onto her side but thats about it x

Jessica has only just started to roll...in a fashion

But she was sitting up way before that

I had the opposite. Baby could roll, crawl, stand up, and cruise, but still couldn't sit unaided. Just goes to show they're all different.

Im so glad you asked this as i was getting worried my little lo has just turned six months as will not even try to roll over. She hates being on her belly!! But she sits up just fine by herself! Glad to know its not just her!!

my lo could sit unaided (not for very long tho) at 4.5 months and has only just started rolling at 11 months haha x

My LO is the opposite too! He's been rolling front to back and front to back since 4 months exactly and is no where near being able to sit!

Jenny could sit at 4.5 months and WALK at nine months - I've still never seen her roll from front to back!!!!!

Bella can't sit yet and she's 7 1/2 months old. She has been rolling all over the place from one end of the room to the other for months though!

My baby is 4 months old, very quick learner. Can stand up balancing on an object like a table, sit up by himself but WILL not roll. He did a few times about a month old now won't! They say if your baby won't roll by 6 months but he is learning other things then it's not a problem but if he isn't rolling and not learning then speak to your pediatrician!

My nephew never rolled or crawled, at least not until he started walking. He sat up around 6 months and was walking by 10. Then there's my LO - rolled front to back and back to front by 4 months. Every baby is different!

My LO is 6 months and hasn't rolled either way yet. But has been sitting unaided since 4 1/2 months x

my son would roll over occasionally, but nothing like the "rollie pollie" women describe their babies. He would roll over only if it benifit him to change positions or something. He totally skipped that and went straight to sitting, then crawling 2 weeks last and standing 1 week later.

Mine sat up at 6 months and rolled at just over 7 months. I thought she was never going to roll over but now she won't stop!
