Sleeping on the back

Really, you shouldn't be sleeping on your back or your stomach. You should be sleeping on either your left or right side.

Right now you're fine to be sleeping on your back, however as baby gets larger there's a central artery he/she may end up on top of which can cause problems for both you and baby.

Laying on your left or right is best.

your not supposed to sleep on your back either you are supposed to sleep on your side left or right.. it took me tel i was 10weeks before i got in a habbit of switching to side sleeping it was hard as in the middle of the night id always switch for some reason (i move alot in my sleep) but it will adventually get to uncomfy to sleep on ur tummy so you wont want to, same with your back thats what i found anyway

I love lying on my tummy :( but LO kicks me and it's so uncomfy so I can't, as you get bigger your side is the only 'comfy' position xxx

I don't think it does any harm for the moment as baby is still very small, but I would get into the habit of sleeping on your side sooner rather than later. Try putting a pillow between your legs or sort of hugging one. You won't be able to sleep on your stomach soon enough, there'll be a little bump in the way! :haha: Ever since being pregnant with my first, I am constantly aware of my position in bed, I wake up feeling horrible if I end up on my front or back. You'll end up in the right position, your body won't feel comfortable any other way!

It's not too harmfull at this stage I think, but it will get more dangerous (and impossible to do!) in a few weeks, so I would start sleeping on your sides (preferably your left if you can) x

I slept on my back till I was 32 weeks and to huge to it felt like i was going to get crushed.
I have a very healthy baby but they dont recommend it but if you end up on your back in the middle of the night there is nothing you can do.
Just fall sleep on your side and thats really all you can do.

you'll soon get used to sleeping on your side :) sleeping on your front will feel like you're lying on a football & sleeping on your back will make you feel suffocated :haha: x

You shouldn't be sleeping on your back. The best place to sleep is on your left hand side. The first tri is one of the most important so I would do everything by the book and be really careful.
