Jacob slept through once last week after i stopped night feeds (after a week of hell!!) then stopped :dohh: but touch wood last night and night before he has gone 8pm - 5am then down again till 6.30!! :wohoo: long may it continue this time!!! xxx

Well done Jacob! Thats the sane routine as Oliver. Just working on dropping the 5am feed. He did last night - didn't wake until 6.45.

Oh i dont feed jacob at 5am i just give him a cuddle and re-settle him if he doesnt go back to sleep i just put him down awake once he settled and knows im there :) then i jump back into bed. And then he wakes me about 6.30ish :) XxX

Send me some of that sleeping dust pls :(

Thats why I'm trying to wean him off that wake up bit! Sometimes he just has a couple of minutes of feeding, then drops off. So now I try to just cuddle him back to sleep. Other times if I just ignore him, he goes back to sleep. The other night, he had a full feed though. I suppose I should try and make it a bit more stable in what I do. This way, he's getting whatever he wants!!:dohh:
I get weak at the weekend though - I try to give him a full feed, in the hope that he will sleep longer and we can have a nice long lie in. Selfish mummy!

Aw, i found just offering nothing helped. Jacob was up and down in the night a few weekd back until i went cold turkey and he never got anything bar his dummy. It was hard but now he sleeps through and only offering his dummy at 5ish means its getting better with this bit. Last night he woke i gave him a cuddle for about 1min sorted his blankets popped him down with his dummy and comforter blanket and went toilet then back to bed. Last week it was taking me 20-30mins at this point to get him back down. So its slowly working.

 i know its hard because we all want lie in's  i did try feeding him at this time before but he was still up an hr later :dohh: and wanting breakfast so now i dont! until its daylight he knows to stay in his cot :D Doesnt help daylight is at 6.30!! Roll on the clock change :) XxX

I am being stupid but won't that make daylight come earlier???

Will respond to you msg later, just popping out!!

Glad he's got better with his sleeping x x

No they go forward so 6.30 becomes 7.30 :) so daylight a lil later until summer kicks in :) XxX

He's never had a dummy in bed though. Perhaps I should try starting with a comforter - he's never had one before now. We're also going to get some black out blinds. It might help. At the weekend though, I noticed a birds nest right outside his sodding bedroom window :dohh: I hope it's not the birdies waking him up asking for their breakfast!

A comfort blanket helps :) jacob has this elephant thats got a blancket attached and cuddles it when he sleeps so when he wakes i pop it back into his arms and pop his dummy in and that works. But sometimes the comfort blanket is enough only prob is he will prob carry this bloody thing around until he is 5! :dohh: but i can put him down awake now and he just speaks to it "bababab" until he falls asleep. you can walk past and he is chewing it and flinging it about then silence and he is gone :) XxX

well done! hope he keeps it up for you x

oooh - can i borrow him? He can show Amelia how to do it!!!!!

Thing is, Amelia had started sleeping from 8 pm till 4.30 am - lasted a few days but now she has started waking between 1 .30 - 2 am for a feed again - why????? I havn't been doing anything any differently!
