I'll start off by saying I am NOT looking to lose weight. I'm already slim, and obviously pregnant.

Recently I've been getting really shaky and weak if I don't eat like, literally, ever two hours. This is just unrealistic with three kids and constant nausea.

So my thoughts were I could have a slim fast drink in between meals to help add whatever it is my body is lacking from not constant eating? I've tried eating but I just can't. I'm not a big eater, never have been.

They say on them they've got protein, fibre and like 20 something vitamins so I can't see it doing any harm?

Any thoughts?

Instead of slim fast why don't you try an ensure ? You will get a lot more vitamins with that as opposed to slim fast X

I drank it lol I had some left over and I like the taste.

I avoided slimfast because of the artificial sugar it contains. Instead I drink carnation instant breakfast powder + milk... it has real sugar and more vitamins. And tastes better!

I can't find anything else in the UK. I looked for Ensure but no idea where to buy it. And I also looked for the carnation breakfast drink but again it seems to be a US thing.

Any links?

I think a slimfast would be better than nothing, but how about a fresh fruit/yoghurt smoothie? At least then the sugar would be naturals

Im in the UK, and I bought myself Complan to keep myself going :) I had awful morning sickness and decided I had to have something to stop myself losing even more weight.

I second complan or esure - they sell them in Boots. Slim fast probably wont help, it is just full of bulking agents so you probably wont feel the need to eat at all, as that is effectively what it is for.

Slim fast is full of agents to help you feel full without the calories, probably not the best when your pregnant and probably won't help with the shakiness/weakness. I agree with the other ladies suggestions, although it might be a good idea to get your blood sugars checked out just to be safe.

I've had bloods done and midwife was dismissive. I get like this when pregnant, my body just can't function off eating like a normal person but I can't eat every two hours.

I've looked for Esure but still can't find it. I'm going to try Complan as I know I've seen that locally.

As far as he smoothies go, they make me feel sick. It's too acidic. And I don't have the time to be making fresh ones.

I just need a quick 'pop open' gap filler to stop me from feeling like I'm going to collapse.

Any milk based drinks will help - milk has plenty of protein and vitamins. Actually prescribe this where I work to supplement diet. Drinks like yazoo and other milkshakes should help. Yazoo has extra vitamins added to it - got a bit addicted last pregnancy

I wouldn't, just because of all the added chemicals, why not grab yourself a bag of nuts or increase the protein you eat with your meals... Is there anything you like in particular, such as cheese or seeds or fruit?
