Slimming before TTC - my Weight Watchers Diary

Well I put on 0.5lbs last week which really, really annoyed me :(
But I got my period on monday and my WW leader said it could make a big difference as you tend to retain water...actually looking back in my weighing card, 4 weeks ago(last period) I didn't lose any weight and then 3.5lbs the next week....so here's hoping!
I have been good and eating within my points, I know it will all catch up eventually

Definitely! When was 16 and did weight watchers I always gained from 3-5 lbs for my period. It's totally normal. The next week it would be gone. The fact that you only gained 1/2 a pound means you must have lost at least 3 in my book. You are doing a fantastic job.

Hiya, just a quick post...I'm still alive and still doing WW...didn't go to a meeting last week as I was in Germany eating horrible food(diet wise ;-) ) Did you know a Bratwurst has anything between 8 and 11 points? Good thing I only crave them once a year....should have had a French Crepe instead for just 4 points....
After that I did some temp work as a Nanny and hardly had time to eat and never had any snacks really...
all three days I had 2 slices of toast with butter(evil) for breakfast(5? Points?), 2crumpets and a tin of WW tomato soup for lunch(4 Points) and a ready meal for dinner(5-7 Points....so no more than 16 Points a day when I'm allowed 23!
One evening I had a Orville Redenbacher Microwave Popcorn(Smart Pop 94% Fat Free Single Serve Bag, think it's 100kcal...don't remember as I bought it during my last US holiday in February) but that was it!
Then to end the week I got a stomach bug Friday/Saturday night and didn't eat much apart from a few pieces of dry cereal and a Crumpet on Saturday...
Really wanted to go to tonight's WW meeting to find out whether I made it to 14st or not(which was my pre-christmas goal) but it's too icy outside and I'd have to walk...
also don't want to spend the money on the meeting this week after breaking my phone today :(

But I'll keep following WW and will find a new meeting as soon as I'm all settled in my new place(moving in January)

I've not been doing very well over the last few days which is really annoying.
Yesterday my girlfriend and I went out for dinner and I ended up going over my points by 1...then as if that wasn't enough I had some chocolate at home going over my points by a total of 5!!!!
So I'm going to have to do my best and try to catch up today

today's menu minus the snacks will be:
toast & egg=5 Points[for some reason I always need a big breakfast]
soup & Crumpet=3 Points
salmon, rice, veggies=8 Points

Don't be so hard on yourself. These things happen! And think of all those points you saved babysitting and with the stomach bug. And think of those 34 points you get extra every week. When I was 16 and went to meetings I knew girls who ate all their points and the extra 34 and still lost loads of weight! You are doing just great.

So I finally bought some new scales and when I stepped on them I couldn't believe my eyes as it appears I have lost 6 Pounds since my last weigh-in :)
Very pleased with that!
I probably gained a bit over Christmas/New Year but was good before and since then, so happy to see it paid off.

I haven't updated this in a really long time...I'm still doing Weight Watchers, though I am not going to meetings anymore as I can't fit them into my work schedule.
This is probably the reason why my weight loss has slowed down as I'm not as motivated anymore, but I have gone from 15st3lbs(213lbs) to 12st8.5(176.5), which is a loss of 36.5lbs so far. So it's not all bad...I want to get to 11st 10(164lbs) which is another 12.5lbs to go [at least] This is a goal my doctor set me as they weren't happy with my blood pressure and want to see if weight loss will help it.
I know my 'goal' is still quite high but it will be in the normal BMI range and I'm happy with that.

A few of my favourite things to eat:

*soup
I never liked soup before starting Weight Watchers, but now I eat it all the time. The tinned Weight Watchers soups aren't very nice and I always make my own with butternut squash, red peppers, red onion, a cougette and stock. PLUS lots of chilli powder ;-) This is a 0-Points soup!

*Egg White 'Omelette' Sandwiches
I 'fry' some fresh, chopped spinach in the 1kcal spray.
Then I put the spinach in a bowl and mix it with 2-3 egg whites, I then make this mix into an omelette and serve it ON 2 slices of bread spread with ketchup.
My bread is 3 Points for 2 slices so with the ketchup this works out to be 3.5 Points
Very filling lunch.
Waitrose sells this(oh apparently bigger Tesco stores have it as well-use the store locator)
https://www.twochicks.co.uk/
It's egg whites in a carton, which saves you dividing eggs and throwing the yolks out. But it can work out to be quite pricey if you don't normally use free range or organic eggs(for me it's the same to buy 15 free range eggs)

*houmous
Oh how I love houmous!
Sainsbury's makes the BEST lower fat houmous and I have tried them all! It's the lowest in calories as well
They sell them in 3 little mini tubs which I think work out to 1.5 Points each and is good if like me you're having a problem not eating the entire big tub.
I always have houmous with lots of cut up 0-Point veg like carrots, cucumber and peppers plus one pitta bread(2.5 Points)

*Food doctor bread
https://www.thefooddoctor.com/The-Food-Doctor-Bread-Afresh_bread/
It's delicious! Seeded and possibly (slightly) higher in points than other alternatives, but they're good for you.
1 Pitta pocket has 2.5 Points(same as most other wholemeal ones I've tried)
1 bagel has 3 Points(again, the same as the New York style ones I usually have)
2 slices of the multigrain and oats bread(very good for the omelet sandwich) have 3 Points

*nakd bars

https://www.naturalbalancefoods.co.uk/store/nakd/default.aspx
these are 'good for you' snack bars made with raw dried fruit and nuts
the 20g bars of apple pie, cocoa loco, berry cheeky and banana bread have 1.5 each, the others have more nuts in them and more points so I avoid them
They're being sold in Sainsbury's and I've even seen them in Morrisons for about 50/60p each

*Kellogs Fibre Plus bar
I eat these when I want a really nice chocolate fix
I bar has 111kcal and 2 WW Points
*yum* watch out for offers as they're often on offer for £1

*Oatybars by Weetabix
1 Point each, very low calorie cereal bar and sooo much nicer than those horrible Special K bars
https://www.weetabix.co.uk/brands/oaty-bars/

*Alpen light bars
also work out just 1 Point each and very nice, though not as 'soft' as the Oaty bars
https://www.weetabix.co.uk/brands/alpen-bars/alpen-groove-bar-2/

*Barretts Flumps Marshmallow twist
sometimes I just want something really, really sweet and one twist only has 0.5 Points and you can buy these for 10p in larger supermarkets

haha, snack much? ;-)
