My dad says he wouldn't mind a slow cooker, so i thought i might get him one for christmas.

I bought a cheap one from Morrisons a few years ago made braising steak at 7am left for work come home at 8pm and it still wasn't tender enough even on the highest heat!!

any recommendations please??

It should have been fine after that time?!
I have a morphy Richards one , I'd put braising steak on a medium heat from lunchtime and it'd fine by 6/7 pm!

I have an Asda one and, as above, mine is fine for things like braising steak!

i cook everything in mine including bread...

maybe its a dodgy one?
mines a morphy richards one. xx

Mine's a morphy richards too...well both of them are

Love them!

I have a morphy richards one and an asda one. I always cook braising steak/stewing beef on low for 7-10 hours and it comes out tender. Maybe try again with more stock ?

I also brown the meat along with veg and boil up in the stock before putting in the slow cooker

Thanks for the replies :happydance: it seems MorphyRichards is the way to go  i'll look into it this week.

i dont know what happened with my steak  the lid cracked when i took it off too probably just a dodgy one off!

Ours is Morphy richards and i cant fault it its one of my favourite appliances x

make your bread dough as usual, then line the slow cooker with baking paper, plonk your dough in, turn on high for 1.5 hours. :)

when its done just lift it out :)

makes the flat smell sooooo good for 2 days!! xxx
