Here is my story, I went to ER a week and a half before AF was due. They did a scan and said I had burst cyst on left side. Which made sense bc I had localized pain on left side. The following Tuesday I went to my OB for a flow up and she said it would take some time to heal. She asked if they did blood test for pregnancy which they did not. She said if you don't get AF take a test and if its positive take this script to have blood work. The next day three to four days before AF was due to arrive I took a test and got a big fat, fast BFP. The next day I went and got blood work done HCG was at 75 on that Thursday. They repeated the test this past Tuesday it was at 175, only a 40 percent increase to the baseline verses the 60 they want to see. I am suppose to go today for more blood work. Well last night I ended up in ER with the left sided pain they said HCG was 219 and they didn't show anything on scan but a large cyst on right ovary which wasn't there during my initial visit to ER. They are worried about it being Ectopic pregnancy but my OB said it could be slow starting. I just turned four weeks a few days ago. The pain has spread and my cramps and lower back have me bed ridden. I just want to know once and for all what is going on. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for takin the time to read this lengthy story.

The numbers game I can wait out and see. It's the fact that they believe its ectopic that scares me to death. Supposedly the radiologist is saying my scan shows nothing in uterus and cyst on right ovary and something about blood flow. However I believe I was three days past four weeks when he did the scan. I don't think you can see anything anyway. Now it's a matter of my health and safety or take a chance, but when they scare you like this it makes me think I should have the shot. I don't know what to do. This is the most difficult decision I have to make. My fiancé and I have a huge wedding planned for September 5th. He is scared for my health and safety as well. I wish a scan would show something it would make this easier.

Not sure if that will make you feel better but my 2nd pregnancy had slow rising numbers as well (it doubled fine until 4 weeks 5 days and then stopped doubling). They were concerned about ectopic so they did an U/S at 6 weeks and found an embryo in-utero.I miscarried 5 days later but it wasn't ectopic or anything.

Hang in there:hugs:

Thanks so much! My numbers were at forty percent of the baseline the first round of bloodwork when I posted this. After that they have more than doubled ever since. Not sure why it went that way. I am still pregnant and getting blood work every week. Getting a scan in little over a week. Hoping that it all goes well and everything is ok. They are fairly confident this is not ectopic though which is a good thing. Keep you posted :).

Here's to hoping I have wonderful news to post soon. I never had these issues with either of my sons :(. All this worrying and things not going smoothly is new to me. I'm starting to think all this early testing can be more stressful than not knowing.

Here they usually don't check hcg levels. With my 2nd pregnancy they did because they wanted to make sure it was a new pregnancy (I was already sure of that). With this one they checked my levels at 4+5 (my 1st appointment, don't know why...) and they were 29 000!! So I thought molar or some chromosome issues, but everything is totally normal :)

29,000 is high! Mine aren't even close to that lol. Mine are on a steady clime and not skyrocketing, sometimes that makes me nervous. I am still very nervous to say the least. I go for another round of bloodwork today to check levels for HCG and progesterone. I'm trying not to worry and keep telling myself whatever is going on right now I can't change and have no control. Of the pregnancy isn't viable then it is Natures way of doing what was best for the baby. It's part of life and I keep telling myself that. The scan seems to be what I need at this point to get the confirmations I need. Thanks for checking in xxxxx
