Saw the midwife earlier today. Baby is head down but not engaged. Heard his heartbeat and his movements are fine.
She said my bump has grown but has slowed down compared to how it was growing so has booked me in for a growth scan next Wednesday morning. She said not to be worried and its just routine.
But of course I am worried. I think if they thought it was really serious they would get me in before wednesday.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Sounds completely normal to me! Enjoy the opportunity to see your little one again :-)

I had a scan at 37 ish weeks as my bump hadn't grown for 2 weeks. He was measured at about 7lb and was born at 40+3 weighing 8lb 9oz!

Thankyou ladies. Im going to try not to worry. x

I've been sent for 2 growth scans due to static growth of my fundal height. the first was at 32 weeks and I was really worried...baby measured fine, growing all well :)

the second time was at 38 weeks, this time head and femur both still measured well and the baby's abdomen was measuring big, she wasn't concerned but definitely got a chubby belly :)

so just shows how inaccurate fundal height can be. hope everything goes well for you

I went for my 34 week app and bump hadn't grown since 31 weeks. Sent straight for growth scan and everything perfect. Am now 36+2 and bump still same size. As long as you are feeling movements and well in yourself I wouldn't worry.

Xxx
P.S. I was excited that I got to see her again on a scan!! Every cloud has a silver lining and all that!! Haha xxx

Totally agree. If they were worried, they'd send you for a scab ASAP. Not mid-next year. Sure all fine xx

My fundal height measured the same for 4 weeks and I was sent for a growth scan then and there - my baby was measuring small & I was induced 3 weeks later due to no growth. If they were worried they would be scanning you now not in a week :)

I have had the exact same thing. I had my 36 week scan and the baby was measuring small. They told me they would rescan me in a week and told me to keep an eye on baby's movements in the mean time. So naturally, I spent a week panicking. Although I know, if they were worried, they wouldn't have waited a week to see me again. They also said baby is really healthy in every other way, just her size is a bit small.

I went back for a rescan yesterday. The blood flow etc is still good and baby has gained a little weight but still small. They are going to induce me. I will be induced on Thursday when I will be 38+2. I'm scared about being induced but just want her out now. The reason they will induce is because they think she will thrive better in the outside world and is no longer getting all the nutrients she needs from the placenta. Apparently it is quite a common thing.

I know exactly how you are feeling, but try not to worry. All they will do is possibly induce you. And that means you get to meet your little one earlier! Good luck :hugs:

All I'll say is keep an eye on movements. I was induced at 39 weeks with number three, due to high BP. My waters were full of meconium, and he'd not grown for three weeks. I'm not trying to worry you, but it's only fair that you should know that sometimes, there are reasons for slowing growth. I'd been in and out of ANDU with slowing movements for three weeks xx
