Can it??

Saf is generally exclusivly bf,but my nan died 3 weeks ago and we started trying her on formula for a couple of feeds a day in preparation funeral so my oh could pop out and feed her..

Anyway shes never been a great sleeper but for 3 nights before my nan died she slept through, then i found out nan died and she starting sleeping really badly again..

Last night was really bad,she was up chattering away every hour and wide awake from 430!! She had 6 oz of sma last night and i've just put all things together and wondered if it could poss be the sma?? At the time i really thought it was me being upset over nan but like i said now i've just realised shes actually been on the formula since that day..

What do you guys think? Is it possible she isnt getting on with sma??

I'd be surprised...Arthur has sma and sleeps ok. My gut feel is it's more about you being upset. I'm so sorry about your Nan.

your baby may be sensing your upset and stressed and may be causing her to sleep bad, as midwives do say they pick up on when your upset, stressed etc. so sorry to hear about your nan hun :hugs: xxxxx

ella's on sma and fingers crossed, touch wood and all that, she's slept thru from 10pm to 7ish this last week. it could be that its not agreeing with your LO tho, or just like has been said above that she's picking up things from you, like vibes and stuff like that!

Formula is a little harder to digest than breastmilk. When we switched from EBM to formula, Ruby was clearly sometimes in a little discomfort. It didn't last long though. I doubt it's the SMA.

Sorry about your nan hun.

It could be either I think, breastmilk is easier to digest so it might be upsetting her tummy. Maybe you could try BF in the night again and giving her SMA in the morning and if she's uncomfortable afterwards then you'll have your answer. Aptamil is supposedly the closest to breast milk, Brady's been on SMA and Aptamil and the Aptamil does seem thinner to me so maybe that would agree with her more.
