I'm thinking of trying SMA white for Jac as his feeds seem to be getting closer together during the day, gone from 4 hrs to 3 hrs apart and sometimes even 2 1/2 hrs...but i try and make him wait out a bit.
I upped his ounces from 5-6 thinking he was dropping a feed as he goes longer during the night, but he takes the extra and is still taking his 6 bottles in 24 hrs.

I'm worried the switch will make him constipated though.

Any experiences greatly heard :)

We had this at 6 wks old as well, i didnt change her milk, because she was going thru a growth spurt.

Sounds like your little man is going thru the same, i think to change his milk to SMA white at 6 weeks is too early but speak to your HV and see what she says.

Hmmm.....he had his growth spurt 1 1/2 weeks ago as he was ALWAYS hungry and had an extra feed during the day for 3-4 days and top ups here and there.

He's settled since but the feeds seem to be slowly getting closer and closer together so that's why i was thinking of changing since upping the oz hasnt made a difference.

I would maybe change it.

Good luck.

hey, we changed and it made our lo very unsettled, we kept her on it for a few weeks to make sure it was definately that making her the way she was...

my advice would be to up the amount of formula to 7oz. We've now changed formula to aptimil easy digest and the difference is unbelievable.

ps - sma white didnt make our lo sleep any longer or go THAT much longer between feeds, or take any less in the bottle.

hope that helps!

sma white made Chloe ill, very windy and sick, we went back to gold and added 2 oz to each feed and no probs!

My little one used to be on SMA gold we tried him on the hungry baby white and it made him really really constipated so back to SMA gold but he was eating a lot and still constipated so i switched him to C&G Comfort easy digest and he has been fine and even started sleeping through the night at 5weeks ... :o) hope this helps x
