I seem to have a hungry baby and someone told me that white was the better of the two if baby is hungrier. I tried giving her more of the gold but she seems to sick it back up when I give her more but then wants more after. She gets breastfed too but doesnt stay on too long hense why she gets topped up on formula. Anyone have any suggestions on whther I should switch to white or carry on as I am. If I switch to white can I still give gold? just a query as I heard you sghould mix and match but I have loads of gold left and the ready made stuff is handy. But will do what is best for her.

I'd lay off white for as long as possible. Only because I've heard that it's made from a different type of protein to gold and it's better for the baby to be 12wks or so before they get it. Have you spoken to your HV about it? It seems to me (just from reading here) that if people try hungry baby milk when their baby is really little it sometimes goes a bit wrong and they end up going back to normal milk. We moved Ally to hungry baby when he was 12 weeks and it worked really well. We were bfing then too.

i tried white instead of gold and it gave chloe awful tummy ache switched back and she settled down on gold,

I've got a hungry baby but have been advised not to go on any of the hungry baby formulas such as sma white as the midwives/health visitors don't recommend them. All the 'first' milk formulas such as sma gold are much closer to breastmilk as they have a high whey content. sma white has a different ingredient to whey called casein which is the thing that bulks up the feed, but it's not the best thing for young babies digestive systems.
