I was induced but the baby was in distress so they broke my waters and put a thing on his head to monitor him, there was meconium in my waters and every time i had a contraction his heart rate dropped to they rushed us in for an emergency section. Baby had the cord wrapped around his neck 3 times, his arms, body and legs! They said it was the longest cord they had ever seen.

Since then, he has had a few worrying signs and they tested him loads and loads and we spent the week with our hearts in our mouths but they have said he is healthy and allowed us home today.

It has been very emotional but we are happy and safe and have our little man with us finally. I hope this doesnt scare anyone cos its unusual circumstances and the only thing i would say is, if it doesnt feel right kick up a stink till they listen and check you out....ohhh and gas and air is the most amazing stuff, they had to wrestle it off me to give me the spinal block for the section haha!!!

Glad to hear your little man is doing okay and home with you. Hope you're doing well too.

Thanks hun, poor you being a week over due how are you feeling? cant believe i forgot to put a photo he is one greedy little man thats for sure! i cant keep up so have had to mix feed he is very good though when he is full he sleeps and sleeps but he makes me laugh cos every time hubby changes his nappy he pees everywhere but doesnt do it when i change him

Aww he's gorgeous well done glad to hear he's feeding well and sprinking your hubby lol he obv knows not to pee on mummy lol

I've had my little man too, just not updated my tracker cos on phone and not sure how from this lol he was an impatient wee man and arrived 36 + 4 :-O my birth stories a wee bit further down the page (it's quite long lol) he's 5wks tomorrow x

Oh wow i just had a good old read! He is gorgeous and what a fantastic birth story i really enjoyed reading it, really well written and as i havent had a chance to experience a normal birth it was so nice to get an idea of how it goes really loved how he looked up at you from skin to skin made me remember DJ looking up at me while we were having skin to skin such innocent eyes

Im sorry you ended up having to go back to hospital hun but great news he is back on track now and gaining like a trooper

Gosh 5 weeks! seems so long but i bet it went by in a flash! how are his feeds now? how often does he feed? My sis told me they go longer between feeds after a few weeks but i dunno how many LOL and DJ seems to get hungry every 2 - 3 hours and we no longer have to worry about waking him for feeds he just screams for it xxx

Aww thanks hon, it was quite long but I wanted to have an account of it to remember because I know it'll get hazy over time lol
It's the best feeling in the world them looking at you during skin to skin isn't it, you wonder what they're thinking don't you.
The time has flown by so fast, really want a slow mo button lol
He's feeding great now, he's formula fed so takes between 3 and 4 oz every 3-4hrs, he's the same yelling his head off to get fed lol the only time we need to wake him to feed is if we've been out in the car, it knocks him out lol the 4hr stretches through the night are good
Sorry that you had to have a Caesarian hopefully next time you'll have as good an experience as me I've already started mentioning number 2 to hubby lol although he's put a couple of years timescale on it xx

Im glad you did hun, the details defo get fuzzy...i heard there is some hormone that makes us forget i could probs do with some extras of that LOL

hehe yeah its so lovely, i find myself daydreaming about what he will be like when he grows up when i look at him while he is feeding, wondering what life will bring him

Ohh i cant wait to get back in the car! driving me nuts not being able to drive, 4 weeks left what formula do you use hun? Im expressing at the mo and will probs end up with formula as i hear the milk dries up if you dont bf but DJ wont latch 4 hours in the night would be amazing! i dunno how im going to cope when hubby is back at work

Im the same, i am determined we will have another, hubby is ok with that but not yet LOL i also been told i have to wait at least a year but better 18 months before even getting prego cos of the section but thats ok cos it gives us time to enjoy our little man before we worry about number two

It's amazing isn't it, thinking about what life will hold for them my hubby and I were saying the other day, their generation won't know record players and tapes or a time before mobiles and the Internet.

Oh not driving must he really hard, do you have plenty people around to run you places when hubby goes back to work?
We're using cow & gate formula, tried sma first but he fussed while taking it and it bunged him up, so we switched and he takes it much better.
Ow are you bf, it must be hard going, but at least with expressing your hubby can help with the feeds too. The time between feeds does get better, you'll get there, your little mans still young yet. Harrison sometimes still what's fed after 2.5hrs sometimes hungry Horace lol

That's it, waiting a while before number 2 means you can enjoy your little man and all his milestones. It's amazing how the pain is forgotten once they're here and the joy they bring makes you think another would be lovely lol
