Smelly pushchair

Cookie1979, did you ever manage to get the smell out? I have just done EXACTLY the same thing. I've just chanced putting the seat unit in the washing machine and it still stinks. Sorry for replying on such an old thread, I googled for help in cleaning the Buzz and this came up! Any help appreciated!

Febreze is a really nasty chemical. I wouldn't fight horrid chemical with horrid chemical tbh.
I think if you can remove any of the buggy material then soak it and give it a dam good wash!

The only bit I can fully remove is the seat, the hood and the base fabric are fixed. I'm so annoyed, the girl's house didn't smell of smoke so I assumed all was ok. Perhaps this pushchair was at Granny's house or something. It was only the next day the smell became apparent.

I fear I may have to buy another pushchair and chalk this "pre-loved" purchase up to bad experience. :sad1:

Oh god its quite sad they must of smoked round there LO anyway id try the bicarbonated powder hoing the smell comes out x

The buzz seat can go in the washing machine (well i put it in anyway lol) I have a white seat and a black one and i wash both of them in the machine. I'm sure if you wash it a few times the smell will come out. I wouldn't put the memory foam one in there though. Just the 'older babies' seat.

xx

Well, I've put the seat through the machine three times now (the memory foam bit though, eek!). The third spin is just finishing so we shall see. The base and the hood have been soaking in the bath all evening. My husband gave them a good scrub so we'll just keep repeating! Ach, so annoyed with myself for not noticing at the time. As I said, the smell didn't become noticable for a day or so, weird. Here's hoping it works. Lesson learned for buying second hand though. I must be more thorough checking! Thanks for the advice. :hugs:

Oops lol. Im sure it will turn out fine. I always put everything in washing machine, even hand wash only lol.

xx
