Too many posts today - I vow to make this my final question of the day!

Baby has slightly smelly white-ish stuff behind his ears. We think this is probably just where milk has got trapped when he's dribbled, but thought I'd ask on here whether anybody else has had this and found out what it is. Don't want it to be an infection that we are ignoring. The stuff actually looks a bit like the vermix that covers babies' skin when they're born, but it can't be this as our son will be 6 weeks tomorrow and we have washed him (honest!).

I think its just milk, my DD had this.
I used to put cream on the back of her ears and wash behind them regularly - that sorted it out!

Rose had it too. Just continued washing her ears and popped some olive oil/ e45 behind her ears. all gone now.

sounds like milk to me as well. Just try to wipe the area down after you feed him, it helped us loads

Yeah Imi has it too as she's so dribbly. I just try and keep it clean :)

Ugh yes, Leyla had that stuff. I was worried she had an ear infection cos I thought the smell was coming from inside her ear. Luckily I noticed the milky gunk before I took her to the doctor!!!

I found this behind Adi's ears the other day. He's 4 weeks, so I was like "Vernix?? No way!"
But it was sticky and smelled cheesy.
I just rubbed it off with a wash cloth. So it was milk, huh? Weird.
I make sure to clean behind them every day now.
