SMEP with short cycle

Hi all,
I figured we would try SMEP this month, as nothing else has seemed to work (ttc since Nov 09). I am just wondering if anyone has tried this with a short cycle? For the past 3 months I have had 26 days cycles, but I jusst started AF yesterday after a 24 day cycle. Using opk's last month, I ovulated on cd10. Does this mean I should start bd-ing earlier? I really want to try SMEP, but I'm scared if i wait until CD 8 to start as suggested, that I will miss my chance? Thanks in advance, and baby dust to all! Here's hoping for some BFPs this month!!!

do u do opk ? mine always have a build up b4 i get a pos, but waiting till cd8 wud be fine xx

Hi I seem to be the same as u. Been trying since NOV 09 and getting really down with it not happening. I was going to try the plan again I tried it at the start of my ttc journey but did not work so I am going to try again. I think I might start from day six as that way I have better chance of not missing it. My cycles are ranging from 21 to 26 days.

Was also thinking of splashing out on a clearblue fertility monitor as I am willing to try anything to get my bfp before xmas.

Lets hope it works for us.

Thanks honey08! I did use opk's last month and ovulated on day 10. I did get a line the day before, but it wasn't darker than the control line. I pretty much watched it go up and down over 3 days.... ok so let me make sure i'm right here.... bd on cd8, and then everyother day until my positive opk, then bd for 3 consecutive days and then wait a day then do it again? Lol DH thinks I'm making myself crazy reading all these forums, but I can't help myself! Really really really want a BFP this month! Thank you again

I have the same issue, im planning CD 6 8 10 12 13 14 16

hopefully ovulating on CD 13 if all goes according to plan

Thanks Tidy - best of luck to you. I would really love a BFP before xmas too! I'll be 31 in Dec and DH will be 38 in Feb, so I feel like time is running out for us Shoulda started to try earlier, but it just never felt like the right time, and now it's just not happening..... fingers crossed for us this month!

I have a clearblue monitor this is my 3rd month using it, its great because you have an instant answer but i still use opks just to make sure

i got mine from ebay for £40 i'd say its worth the investment

Yeah Im 31 and DH is 33. I had to wait till he was ready to start a family. I have been ready for years. It is very emotional and I am really starting to feel it will not happen.

Maybe we could motivate each other along the way!!

Oh I think I will get one. But the sticks are expensive too. How many do you use a month? DO you just use cheap opks?

Definitely - I'm in the same boat and the more months that go by, the more disapointed I am after AF shows herself. Ok lets try to stay positive we can do this!!!

I use about 8 sticks a month, but i read someone else say they use sticks until they get the first peak than stop so i may try that this month to save more sticks. i buy 10 opks for £2 from ebay too each month.

im 30 as is my OH, thats amazing were almost all the same age, i guess the 30s grown up thing kicked in

Af is normally only about 4 days (I guess that's one good thing about a short cycle!). I live in Dubai, so not sure if pre-seed is even available here? I could check the pharmacy, but they will probably just look at me with that confused look on their face.... haha A lot of places eg Amazon won't ship to the UAE either.....

My af is between 21 and 26 days it keeps varying which is annoying. I do get +ves from opks but nothing is happening. I have not tried pre-seed but I tried conceive plus 2 tubes and nothing. I have tried insteads though. They are fab arent they even for the comfort level after sex....
