We've got loads too (in Manchester). I can't actually see where the road is because the snow is up and over the pavement. And it's STILL snowing. I just hope OH can get home from work. They might send everyone home soon.
Yes were home and well! I went into work from half 8 till 2 today! Its nasty though the pavements are sheets of ice and Jacob doesnt understand why I wont let him walk around x
Sorry. I know that it isn't normal for you guys to get that type of snow, so its a massive deal. While I was clicking through the pictures I kept thinking how it doesn't really look like alot of snow at all! We get TONS here, but that's normal for our climate.
I have various pictures of what our winters look like, here's a few:
tyff - that is awsome i so so so wished we got snow like that!
Becky - my boss lives in high wycombe he left the office the other day at 4:30pm and didnt get home till after 11pm. He had to abandon the car and walk. The problem round there is all the hills!!!!
Snow is scary though isn't it? I don't like it really, only once in a while so I can build a snowman, and that's only if I have no where to go I always seem to fall on my bum!
Becky, and all others affected badly by the snow, Big hugs Stay safe everyone!
We still haven't really had any! x
I think that the way areas deal with snowfall has a lot to do with it. Here they are quick to clear the roads (not saying they always stay on top of it but the main roads and what not do get cleared as quickly as possible). When I was in Dallas they didn't even have the budget for snow removal/salt trucks etc. so the few times they got an ice storm/snow storm while I was there everything shut down
