Went for my 20 week scan today and even though bubby is healthy (which I'm really happy about) but I'm so dissapointed baby didn't open his/her legs and I was so so SO looking forward to knowing the gender.
I know it's probably not possible to make baby move but did any other ladies find a way to make bub open it's legs? I'm paying $110 for a private gender scan on Wednesday and I don't wanna be disappointed.
It's really made me feel crappy!! :(

You could maybe drink some fruit juice before the appointment? I've heard that makes them more active but it could be hit or miss. I hope you get to see what team you're on!

I don't know of a way, but if you pay specially for a gender scan and they can't get the job done I'd ask for my money back. They should know how to get the baby to open up.
I think that the baby will probably be more active though. Are you having it done at the same time? Do you notice when the baby is more active and is the scan around then?

Unfortunately it's basically the same time as this scan was, I live 2 and a half hours away and it was the only appointment I could get. Although baby was kicking me during the scan today, strange that the tech couldn't see even though baby was kicking. But thanks for the advice! I'll try some fruit juice and I'll give baby a good talking too hahaha :)

That's strange because I had to go for a walk and then went back for the next try. Try Orange juice before hand and eat something a bit sugary as well. It might help baby to move a bit more. Good luck!

Here the 20 week scan is an 'anomoly scan' and checking for gender is something extra they will do IF they can. So maybe they didnt try too hard to find it? I'm sure if you pay for a gender scan they will make more of an effort and find out for you!

Orange juice and a chocolate bar, I had both of those before my private gender scan and my baby was SO active! Good luck for your next scan I hope your bubba co-operates. X

Hopefully with your private scan they will try everything they can to make baby in a favourable position, the 20 week scans they just haven't the time.

at the paid gender scans here they make sure they find out, if baby isn't cooperative, you can come back another day, otherwise they don't take any money

I confess I was a bad Mum and ate a mars bar and drank some freezing cold juice before my gender scan. Baby was really active and we had no trouble finding out her gender at 16+2. Most private clinics offer a free retest if they cannot find out the first time.
