I had a blood test done 2 weeks ago to check my progestrone after ovulation. The nurse called to tell me they were normal, I asked for the levels and she just said NORMAL. I have to gyno appointment today to talk about other options since I have been ttc for 18 months now, and i wanted the exact level, and the guy told me 6.5 How is that normal????????? I don't understand cause i have normal periods, and i get positive on ovulation test.

I'm sorry hon. =( 6.5 does sound a little low, but I've read that many doctors will consider anything over 5 ovulatory, although that may indicate a weak ovulation. That's kind of what it sounds like to me, but of course I'm no doctor.

I'm sorry, hun. That's so frustrating! My first cd21 test was only 8, which my nurse said was fine, too. My ob-gyn said nope, too low, and he put me on clomid. He said I was probably not producing mature eggs, which makes the progesterone level show a weak ovulation. Maybe ask about clomid?

I did have a doctors appointment today with my gyno, that I schedulaed weeks ago, and I will be having a HSG test, another fsh, and progestrone test, and hubby will have a sperm analyst test done. In june I will be starting clomid

Glad your gyno guy started the rolling...6.5 prog is very low. I had 26 and i was told it was ok but didn't indicate definite ovulation under 30! So i don't know how the nurse thought it was normal. Good luck with the process, i'm having a scan next week and hsg next month and dh his second test soon. x x

I thought so too! In the united states over 5 indicates some kind of ovulation, but a pregancy won't stick if its not above 10. They would like to see 10 or up.

strange cuzi never thought to ask my levels even thoe ad themdone 6months ago.
i ovulate everymonth , periods are normal and regular .ive had ultra sound allnormal now im getting lap/dye but have to have bloods done beforeopertaion so ive heard.

i will ask my levels now ,i cant believe doc can say normal at that number when its 10to stick , id pushit further say you/re not happy .But now you've a gyno on side your getmore anserws sorry hun ,try stay postive xxx

Let me share my own experience with you. My doc told me that my progesterone levels were 3.3.. He even mentioned Clomid. I ttc for 5 months and here I am almost 8 weeks pregnant.

The only different thing I did the last month was to relax and focused on other things and bought some opk. Also, something very important, I prayed and prayed to God.
