I am also having irregular cycles which has never, ever happened to me. I had two LLetz procedures after an abnormal smear a while ago and I am wondering it that's caused some sort of problem? they did tell me it might make my next period a bit delayed or early, but wouldn't otherwise affect my periods.

What will the GP say/do if I make an appointment? Will they even investigate as I already have children?

Thank you.

I had a LEEP procedure and several cryo-surgeries after abnormal paps. I was having irregular cycles at the time anyway, so I'm not sure if they were thrown further off or not. I did, however, get pregnant with DD easily despite the surgeries the previous year and irregular periods.
That being said, we have been trying for #2 for 9 years now.
Just because your cycles are irregular doesn't mean you aren't ovulating. You have 2 good options. The first is to call your obgyn and talk to someone there about your concerns and see if they will schedule day 3 and 21 blood tests to see if you are ovulating. If you have always been regular and then all of a sudden you aren't, obviously something is off and they shouldn't have a problem with doing some investigation. The other is to start charting to see if you ovulate.

Thanks. I'm in the UK so I'd need to see my GP first who isn't a specialist but may refer me to a gynaecologist, but I'm not sure.

I haven't been charting as I didn't think I could as I am up in the night with my toddler sometimes? I have been doing OPKs though and haven't had a positive (I know they're not totally reliable) and I haven't had any EWCM or other signs of ovulation, which I do usually have.

I think the changes were caused by the paps test, you may consult a gynecologist. But I think you will resume your cycle after some time.

try taking myoinositol 4 g a day it's supposed to help ovulatory func..Yes your gp will investigate. I had a pelvic ultrasound, bloods (i wans't ovulating etiher) and then she gave me clomid. I have 2 kdis already.. look up pregnitude its the name brand for the myo-inositol pharaceutical grade

oh sorry i am not sure about your gp i meant my gyn checked into but you could get the myo-ino on your own..its called soemthing else in UK but it's all over the internet so deosnt' matter

I have always had irregular cycles and i also had my second treatment for abnormal smear in July.

I recently went to my gp in December as my cycles are now 60-70 days long (nothing to do with the treatment). We are trying for a second child and the gp has asked for blood tests and for my husband to have semen analysis and once they are back will start me on clomid herself as she is sure Im not ovulating as my cycles are so long.

So Im sure that your gp will be able to help. I know they wont help with ivf or anything like that if you already have a child but they will carry out fertility testing and help kick start ovation. They like you to have been trying for a year though.

Just go along and ask the question. It cant hurt. X

Thanks. I went to the GP today. He had a look and said although there is some scarring, that's to be expected, but he took a swab to check for infection anyway. He also prescribed me 10 days of norithisterone, 15mg a day to try and sort my periods out and make them more regular and also stop the bleeding in between cycles. He just said go back if that doesn't help and so I assume they'll take it from there.

Tbh, I think he was a bit puzzled as to the cause of the bleeding.

Daisyday, I understood that if you are over 35 they will see you after 6 months of TTC? Although that said, although we haven't been actively trying for long, we weren't using any contraception either since my daughter was born 18 months ago, other t Han a few weeks of cerazette before the Lletz were done.
