So much for Team Yellow!

Sorry you feel a little disappointed :( hopefully you'll start feeling more excited about another little boy soon. I know you want a big family so maybe you'll get to give your DD a sister next time!

If it makes you feel any better, I'm actually closer with my brother than with my sister. Me and my sis get on, but I've always had the same sense of humour as my brother so we've been like best friends for as long as I can remember :)

Congratulations on your little boy. I'm sorry it wasn't what you were hoping for. :flow:

Thanks for all the lovely thoughts, ladies. I'm feeling a lot better today about everything. I told my DH last night, and he admitted that he was a little disappointed, too, but after talking together, we finally came up with a boy's name that we like, so I think that will help us start bonding with him better. :flower:

Hoping4four, yes, I'm sure we'll be having a 4th, at least, so maybe DD will get a sister next time.

Gregsprincess, take my advice and look away when they are measuring your baby's legs! :haha:

Did you call and confirm you're team blue? I know it looks like a penis but it could be the cord, I've seen ultrasound pictures like this on here before where it has turned out LO is a girl and that the "penis" was the cord, and it looks like there is a little "hamburger" down there too. I'd double check!

Thanks for letting me know! Well, I have an appointment today, so I'll ask. But if all else fails, I'm going to be having a growth scan at 32 weeks, so I'll know for sure before the baby comes, either way! :flower:

I was discussing this w/ a friend yesterday - wondering how many people who want to be team Yellow end up finding accidentally. Geesh!
But congrats! Will you ask them to at least confirm what you saw?

Yep, I'll ask at my appointment today. And I too, wondered if the surprise would end up being ruined for me at some point. :dohh:

Oh no! How disappointing, but I guess you can do lots of planning now :D

That's for sure all boy :p

Lol brilliant I love how boys always show the goods lol
Congratulations !!

Emma

Congrats on your boy :)

Luckily we were wanting to find out - good job because when the sonographer was doing some of the measurements we could clearly see he is all boy!

Like you, to begin with I wanted another daughter but as it got closer to the scan I was more open to having a boy. I am over the moon it's a boy and I think I would have actually been a little disappointed if it was another girl.

We've now decided on a name and picked up a few cute outfit, that's definitely helped the bond, plus seeing my DF so so happy he is now having a son makes me feel so warm and fuzzy :) xxx

Thanks ladies. :flower:

Well, I had my appointment today so I asked them to check my ultrasound notes just to be absolutely sure, and yep! Definitely a boy! :haha:

Boo to finding out when you didn't want to. Yay for your boy though! Congrats!

Congratulations and welcome to the Blue Crew! :) I understand how you feel, I am thrilled to be having a boy and super excited but obviously by having a boy I am not sure if my DD will ever have a sister. As other ladies have said though, having younger brothers is wonderful - I am very close to my brother. Plus, you will always have a very special bond with your daughter :flower:

And bless you for finding out this way! I wanted to find out, but if I didn't I'm not sure how they could have possibly hidden it. The sonographer turned on the screen and DS's balls were RIGHT THERE! :haha:

Yeah, I could tell when I watched the video that she tried to "zoom out" really quick so I wouldn't see his boy parts, but they still showed up about three more times after that initial flashing! I think boys are just boys, even from the womb. :dohh:

I had an accidental reveal too. I looked away during ultrasound and that was good, because I wanted to be team yellow. But then on the ultrasound pictures I was looking through later, I saw a very clear potty shot that looked girly! I started obsessing and talking to ultrasound techs online and they all said that it looked like 100% a girl and one of the most obvious pics they've seen.

I could have had it confirmed further but I didn't...I still want to pretend like I didn't see that picture...lol. Guess I'll be finding out for sure in a few weeks anyway. :)

I'm the only girl in a family of 4 boys (and the oldest) and I appreciate my brothers so much now I'm sure your little girl will too!

I can't believe the tech knew you wanted to stay team yellow and then actually gave you a potty-shot picture! Well, if it turns out you're having a boy, it'll be the surprise of a lifetime! :haha:

Oh geeze funny thing with my daughter, i tried to figure it out & I thought i saw a penis & I was very wrong LOL
Anyhow, I have LOTS of ultrasound appointments because I'm high risk so yah never know, I may see the sex by accident. I have bi-weekly cervical checks.

Well, I suggest looking away anytime the tech goes anywhere near the legs! I'm so sorry about your DD. I can't even imagine. :( I hope this baby is your take-home baby. :hugs:

Yeah I'll plan to look away. Its hard to look away because it's so fascinating though!!!
Thanks hun, it was a very sad occasion and I hope dearly that this will be my take home for ever! Well at least until he/she is around 18 :)

wow there is 100% no denying you have a little :blue: bump :) amazing! .. congratulations <3 x
