im not sure if its just my hormones, or if my 2 year old is just testing my patience, but seriously, his tantrums are driving me to despair!!!

hes pretty headstrong is my 2 year old, but when i say no i mean no!! and this drives him mad!!
yesterday i took him to tesco to get my shopping, and he was in the trolly, which is where he normally goes, i do play, and we count etc just so as he wont get bored, but he threw the biggest tantrum the whole way round the shop! he was screaming at the top of his lungs, and kicking etc. i had my 9 year old with me too so just tried to ignore wee man.

i was getting mega stressed though, i did think about just leaving my trolly and taking him to the car, but then i thought hang on, no way, im not giving in!

but i litrally had to keep my head down and get on with my shopping, cos if id seen anyone stare, i wouldnt have been able to keep my calm!!

anyway he didnt give up until we were out the door, and as soon as we got home, i cried my eyes out!!!... and wee man was just singing away lol.

he seems to have got worse this past month, and i do keep my cool, put him up on the naughty seat, and stick by my guns, but im at that stage now where i dont see an end to this!!!
im just hoping that he chills a bit before this baby comes...
he is such an adorable little boy, and i love the bones of him, i know hes frustrated and hes not trying to embarass me, and i know there is an end, but sometimes its such hard work!! xx

I'm going through the exact same thing with my dd, she is having tantrums constantly throughout the day. I've tried ignoring her and telling her off too but nothing is helping. I'm hoping when the baby comes she'll calm down a bit. Xx

i think it help to know that im not the only one going through it, and its a normal part of growing up, sometimes you just feel like your the only one!! xx

My DD is 2 next week and about 10 days ago had her first tantrum .. I just kinda stared at her.. I mean it was full out throw self on the floor, screaming bloody murder, snotty weeping mess. Why? Because I wanted her to tell me 'help' rather than whining at me to do something.

Well she's been on a roll since then. She had a massive one at play gym the other day cause she didn't want to take a turn on something. I just stood there and ignored her, it went on for a while then when she saw no one was paying attention she stopped and went and did something else.

So far the ignoring rather than playing in to it seems to be some working ... I could give two shits about others staring at me in public. Stop and ask them if they could do a better job .. it soon shames them :)

My ped has assured me this is just a phase .. they are getting frustrated cause they can't communicate their needs.

Your def not the only one...hubby keeps saying its 'just a phase' but bloody hell I'm tearing my hair out already. I ignore it when we are out in public because there isn't alot else I can do with a massive belly. But when at home it does seem to wind me up more. X

yep, im hoping the terriable twos isnt going to last for much longer!! im going Grey!!!

i just want to enjoy him, but sometimes he makes it so difficult xx
