Ladies I need some prayers and positive vibes. We were going to start trying this summer (actually this is the week we were going to start) well because of wonderful Obamacare we can't start trying until December now. We had a meeting with our insurance agent this morning to see what our options were and we didn't get very good news :'( I've been so upset all day! I am just so ready to start trying and when I finally have hubby talked into it, we have to delay it by 6 months. As much as I would love to get preggo now, if we did we would have to pay out of pocket until January. Its just not fair.

i'm so sorry :( Insurance has been the biggest pain.... mine is supposed to cover 6 IUIs (lifetime max) but they make it such a hassle i decided to just pay out of pocket for now ...

i hope it gets better for you.. sending positive vibes your way!

I am so sorry you are going through that, that is total crap. Well, now that you have some time I guess I will pass forward what I wish I knew before I started ttc (you may know all of this already)..... Read taking charge of your fertility, ditch the BCP now if you are on it to give your body time to regulate, start taking prenatals, temp for a couple months to make sure you are ovulating and have a good LP, have your hubby ditch the bad habits and take his vitamins to make sure his swimmers are nice and healthy. Also, do everything this summer you can't do while pregnant...go to a water park, go zip lining, drink a lot of awesome summer cocktails. Enjoy your summer!

Good luck and please stick around and keep us posted on your progress!

I actually did get off birth control about 2 months ago so I could get my cycles back on track. So far so good :) I'm back to my regular 29 day cycle and I am definitely ovulating. Hubby and I had a great talk this weekend and I'm going to focus on all of the positive things I have going on in the next 6 months. We're going to Vegas and Mexico this fall so I'll be able to enjoy those trips. I will definitely keep everybody updated. I am so glad I found a place where I could talk to others who are in the same boat as me :)

Why does Obamacare prevent you from ttcing?

Because of the open enrollment period. We haven't had health insurance because it was cheaper for us to be self pay. We had our yearly check ups and that was it. So we didn't look too my into the affordable care act (obamacare) Well now that we were going to start trying we decided that it would be smart to go ahead and get health insurance. We were told that we can't even sign up until November and it won't even kick in until January. The open enrollment under the affordable care act prevents people from getting health insurance from February until November. I'm sure it's beneficial for some, but for us not so much :(

Does your state offer any pregnancy medicare? I made way too much for medicare, but qualified for limited pregnancy medicare, which only covered pregnancy related care (and covered 100%!). Something to look in to!

They actually do offer it, but when I called they said they can't tell me if I qualify until I'm actually pregnant and we just don't wanna take the chance. I've learned to be ok with waiting though. Waiting a few extra months is going to be ok. I was so upset at first but I sat down and made a list of all the positives and it made me feel a lot better :)

Oh okay. My state has the qualifications on their website in a pdf with the income guidelines for all of the medicare programs, but not all states have that I'm sure. I'm glad you came to a good place about it!

Basic guidelines for income and stuff:

I didn't realize the reason was because of enrollment periods. Yes I agree, it's a pain to have to wait if you can't get employer sponsored insurance. I'm sorry you have to wait, it really really stinks :(

I'm so sorry that you have to wait to ttc but I am actually inspired by your positive attitude. You will be a great mommy when the time come :)
