I am just over 29 weeks and today baby hasn't moved as much and my belly semms to have gone really soft, like softest its been since about 12 weeks. I'm a bit worried. Is this ok or do I need to ring mw. I'm pretty tired so could it just be that were both run down ?

Hiya Hun

My belly sometimes seems really soft too,i havent mentioned it to anyone tbh as i thought maybe baby had moved position..
Sorry i cant be more help.
D
xx xx

I know when my LO moved positions parts of my belly got soft but it never hurts to go and get it checked to make sure everythings ok!

I agree that it never hurts to get checked so if you are really worried definately go in hun! :hugs:

Mine is pretty soft most of the time i was worried this morning he seemed to not be moving as normal but i guess he was sleeping because not long after i got up i felt a big stretch in my tummy haha kinda cute

do you have a doppler?listen to give yourself peace of mind otherwise get yourself checked out :hugs:

Have a cold drink and lay on your left side. Count baby movements. You should get at least 6movements in 2 hours.

If this doesn't happen then go to the hospital. (This is what my doctor told me)

You could get a heartbeat from a doppler, but the baby might still be in distress.

According to MW, as long as you have daily movement its all good. I not a fan of dopplers as if you cant find HB anydays you'll just get more paranoid so I didnt get one, but each 2 their own. Trust ur instincts n if u feel they not something right get 2 hosp. If I have a day I dont feel anything I'll b straight 2 hosp without a doubt, but touch wood she moving daily, more some days than others. xxx try not 2 worry

If u can feel movements then everything should fine.
According to sites i've read on baby positions: if LO is laying with their back facing ur back (back to back) then the front of tummy will feel soft especially around ur belly button and u'll b able to see/ feel kicks and limbs where as if LO is laying front to back (their face facing ur back) then u will have a hard tum and prob a sticky out belly button and feel kicks further inside or in ur bum.
i was also told at a check that while LO still has room they can move away from the front of u, towrads ur back and ur tum will feel softer as they aren't pressing against u so much...check out spinningbabies.com. theres a section on belly mapping where it shows u how to work out where baby is laying.

From my own experience I'd go in. I had noticed a softer/flatter belly and went in and got hooked up to monitors...I had a few declerations with baby and he was moving but not his normal self.

They sent me for a scan and found i had no fluid left........I had a csection 2days later at 30weeks.

Just b/c you feel movement doesnt always mean everythings okay. it's reassuring but i'd just call and see what they say. If baby isn't moving like he/she does normally they always say go in to make sure.

Good luck, dont mean to scare you just letting you know my situation. take care. xx

please ask your midwife if you are worried. good luck and keep us informed. xxx:hugs:

ASK ASK ASK!

It doesn't hurt and if your midwife tells you not to worry then you can stop worrying!

Good luck hun, hope all is well :hugs:

Just looked at this website and it's brilliant! Thanks for drawing our attention to it! I've discovered I am LOA! :)

i definately do not want to scare you but if you dont feel anything you have to go in straight away never wait ever mins are vital

and if its nothing then great its just reassurance x hope all is well

Thank you for the replies ladies.

Had a terrible night worrying/backpain/acid reflux and UTI but she is definatly moveing alot more and belly feels much firmer. Used my doppler a few times and kept note of heartbeat and it was always over 120. I think we were both just having a bad day.

did you speak to mw. like i said not trying to frighten you but reduced movement is not good get checked out if you can x

I get soft bits sometimes when my kids have been communicating a lot with bump - I think she scoots round the back for a bit of peace!!

My stomach has felt softer today but i think it can depend of positioning of baby. Although my Lo has been very very active today to a point where it uncomfortable.

Always if in doubt get checked :) x
