Just thought I'd let you guys know that my LO went for his six-week check up (he's 7 wks, tho) and the consultant was very happy with his progress, e.g. he passed all the six week developmental markers and then, she saw that he was four weeks premature, making him 3 weeks in developmental terms, so super impressed -- we have to do some extra tummy time, but he is 'improving' on that every day....
It was actually really sweet, when I put him down on the examining table, he immediately looked towards me, making eye-contact and smiling and then, to pass the time as she was looking for his file on her desk, handed him his Sophie giraffe which he reached for and then pulled towards him, so she said that he was a bright, energetic, lively little boy --
so proof that a few weeks in NICU with all the cuddles and attention as well as just cuddles at home whilst he settled in is all we really need to do to make sure our preemies are fine, even if those days at NICU are hard!
