Hello There!... I am 39 and I have a DS (16 years old). I got , in August 2011, and am TTC #2. I was on BCP for 16 years and stopped taking them a week after I got . I know everyone's body is different after stopping the pill (some can get PG right away and others can take a while)...I started TTC in September 2011, and each month (sept – Jan): No luck. My face broke out some kind of terrible so I went back on BCP in January 2012 (please, don’t judge me…). DH and I really want a child so I (again) stopped using BCP at the end of my March 2012 cycle (March 19, 2012 to be exact). Okay – so we are trying this again: of course came, and April’s Cycle came-n-went (April 15-18). According to my Ovulation Calendar my fertile window was/is April 27 – May 3. I have been taking Evening Primrose Oil since my last cycle, and DH and I BD every day last week (beginning at CD8) from Sunday to Sunday (except Tuesday...why: I don't know ). Anywhoooo, I used CBE digital OPKs and i got a smiley face Thursday evening at 6PM (April 26) , Friday evening at 6PM (April 27) and Saturday morning at 9AM (April 28). The smiley face was gone by 6PM Saturday. ...(again, we were [still] BDing until Sunday (April 29). After a week of BD'ing, DH is worn out so he did not want to BD on Monday - which made me mad ....Grrrr! Anywhoooooo, I have a few questions:
1) When you use the OPK digital and see more than one day of smiley faces (3 days to be exact) would I have ovulated during that time, or will I ovulate a day or two AFTER the smiley face is gone.
2) On Monday, I began having cramps in my lower abdomen. …Sometimes sharp and quick, or dull and lingering; accompanied by lower back pain. (OMG, was I ovulating at that time??) – Wee bit upset because DH didn’t want to BD Monday Night ; Grrrrrr!
3) What is considered MY 1dpo?
Please advise me:
Ps: we BD all of the previous week up until Sunday - but I think I might have missed the O. (experienced cramping Monday & Tuesday)

It is hard to tell exactly when your 1 dpo would be if you're not charting, because you can ovulate at any time after a positive OPK. All the OPK tells you is that there IS an LH surge. The OPK does not even guarantee that you did in fact ovulate (or if you WILL ovulate, should I say). It just tells you that your body is gearing up to ovulate, and you can expect to ovulate anywhere from 24-36 hours, give or take some time, depending on if you caught the surge early, late, or around the time it peaked. You can get a positive OPK on all 3 of those days, it can disappear, and its possible that something could delay that egg to drop for another week, postponing your ovulation for a week after you even got the positive OPK. So, the only way to know for sure that you did in fact ovulate, is to track your BBT every morning before rising (preferably at the same time everyday). Knowing this information makes a BIG difference, and its easy and free once you purchace the thermometer ($15.00 max) I work different shifts at work, and have kind of an inconsistant waking time everyday, and Fertility Friend is still able to accurately detect the exact day I ovulated. I would give it a try. Its a very nice advantage to have Good Luck and lots of baby dust to you!!

I feel better about the whole DH being worn out and not wanting to BD. I thought I ended up with the only man on earth that could get tired of BDing. I feel bad because I feel like this whole TTC thing is taking away all of the fun of BDing for him. But after the AF break, he's back to his normal self. I try to set up a few days where its not TTC BDing and just for fun. This seems to work with him. On these days, we don't worry about the timing and such. I always feel upset when he doesn't want to also, because it always runs through my head.. "Terrific, with my luck, the one day he doesn't want to BD, will be the ONE day that makes the difference!" lol I'm crazy, I know!!
