Hi Everyone!! I'm new to this site.. was hoping to get some feedback and just chat with others.

My husband and I are trying to have a baby. My periods were regular up until about 1.5 years ago. I went to the doctor and she sent me to get various exams/blood tests. Upon getting some results back she called me into the office, and told me I might have possibly PCOS (she might send me to take another exam).

I'm trying to get more information on PCOS.. i guess my biggest concern is.. will I still beable to have a baby? I've been fairly upset since finding out about this.. but have been told its fairly common among woman.

Is there anyone on here..who was diagnosed with PCOS but still had a healthy baby (or babies).

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you everyone :)

Hi RCK. I have PCOS but have not yet had a baby but really hoping its going to work this year.
I have only been recently diagnosed (7 weeks) and the dr has put me on Metformin to regulate my cycles. Has the dr given you anything to regulate your cycles?

I have been reading up on PCOS and a lot of women do have successful pregnancies and i have read that 70% of these are natural (no drugs).
Victoria Beckham and Jools Oliver both have PCOS and have both had successful preganancies.

There are plently of women on BnB who have this so any questions you have there will be someone that can help you.

Good luck!!

Here be a factsheet for you!

I don't have PCOS but a couple of women I know have and they have had healthy pregnancies and babies ...

Good luck with your test and I hope you get your :bfp: soon

thanks for your response MillieMoo!!

My Dr. gave me Yasmin (birth control) to regulate my period..for two months.. its been two months now..shes also given me Metformin.. i havent started taking it yet..im gona go see her this week and discuss when i should start. I've read that being overweight is usually the issue when it comes to PCOS. I'm trying hard to lose weight.. do u have the same issue.. is it weight related? I've even thought about joining something like Jenny Craig to help with the weight lost.

Hope this is the year for you :)

thanks for the factsheet CurlySue!!

also thanks for your post maz.. reading that made me feel better :)

I'm not overweight but I have read that the symptoms can be greatly reduced when you lose weight. Its also possible that your cycles will become more regular.

Good luck with losing weight and your BFP!
