Hey ladies, I've been thinking for a bit and have some questions someone (or a few someones) might be able to assist me with. I'm coming up on the 3rd month of TTC and have been thinking about trying a few different things this time. I've been hearing some good things about that pre-seed stuff, has anyone tried it? Is it any good? I've also never really considered using an OPK before, but with my odd +/- a couple days schedule, I'm thinking it might help, so basically how do they work? I mean, once the kit says I'm O, how long do we have? I'm just starting to do some research into these and am finding myself a bit lost, but I'm determined to do whatever I can to help things along sinc ethe bf pretty much follows whatever is needed. Can anyone help a confused girl? :shy:

Hi,
Ive not tried pre seed myself, but it is a ttc safe lubricant. I dont know much more about it than that.
With OPKs you pee on them every day from a certain CD (depending on jow long your cycle is). There will always be two lines, a strong one which is the control line and a faint one which is the test line.
When the test line becomes as dark as the control line this means you are due to ovulate in th next 24-36 hours.

Arcane is spot on with the OPK's.
I use pre-seed, it's a great lubricant. It's very close to the natural ph of your body's own lubricant, so it doesn't affect the sperm motility. It's also very nice, it doesn't get sticky like some lubes can, and it can last a while if you're a marathon bd'er (lol). It's a little costly compared to some out there, but definitely worth the investment if you and DH need some extra lube and you're TTC

We gave pre-seed a go a few times. It feels quite natural but it didn't help us any (only IVF helped us).

Might be worth a go if you're worried about your CM or you feel a little dry.

Another thing to look out for is how your cm is throughout your cycle. This can help better predict with the opks when you are Oing. Your cm should be clear and eggwhite like/stringy. This is good as it will help move the sperm to where they need to go and keep them comfortable and better able to live. So if you cm isn't really like this much (mine isn't) than pre-see should work really well. :)

I heard using preseed at the right time can really help the sperm get to where they are going. My friend got pregnant teh first month she was using preseed. She also was using cb fertility monitor though so I'm sure she used preseed at her peak time. That's what I am going to try this month!

Thanks for the info ladies! :) What you said, Justme00 about your friend getting pg the first time with the 2 combined is pretty encouraging, so I think this month I'm going to try both. Good luck to all of us. :dust:

Hi,

It's probably best to BD quite a lot around the time of your expected ovulation, so that there are spermies swimming around in time to meet the egg. Once you get a positive on your OPK (this shows a surge in Lutinezing Hormone, just before you ovulate), you will probably ovulate from approximately 3 to 18 hours later (depending on your body and when you test). So BDing the day you get your positive on your OPK should give you a really good chance - BDing the day before is good as well. If you BD after you ovulate, you still have a chance of getting pregnant (as long as it is within a few days) but a more reduced one as an egg only lives about 12 - 24 hours.

Good luck - go BD and get that BFP!
