My freaking wheelie bin :growlmad: :gun::grr::trouble:

And the council want to charge me £25 to replace it!!!!!!

What is the big hype with stealing wheelie bins?? I think its people who cannot be bothered to use their recycling bins and just pile everything into their black one.. hints stealing another. We moved recently and had to bring our own because ours was stolen by one of our new neighbours (who magically put out two black bins on bin day). We know this is we lived close before and they definately only had one!

Its a shame that the genuine people have to pay to get a new one.

I would tell the council to stick paying and that you will put out black bags till they renew you with one x

I've told them I'm not paying and will put out black bags and they said they'll fine me :growlmad:

£25 for something that was stolen?! Well that takes the piss entirely :( They can fine you for just putting black bags out? Wow...thats pretty desperate of your local council!

I'm gunna call the letting agency and try and get them to pay for it seen as it isn't even my house and I'd have to leave it behind if we moved!

we have a trash bin(with wheels) and recycling bin. they do keep up the number of bins per house .any extra bins, they will just take it away unless the resident paid for the extra. anywy,,because my husband does a lot of yard work ,we paid for a second one

We have 4 (!!!) different bins but they've taken my general waste bin that I use for nappies and cat litter. They're happy to replace my 3 other bins for free because they are for recycling.

paint one of them black ;) (or what ever colour it is, then phone for a replacement of the recycling bin

That is ridiculous them charging you for a bin when yours was stolen and then saying you will be fined for not using the bin! Anything to make a bit of money :nope: Report them to the local newspaper!

We have four bins here as well... it looks horrible terraced houses with tiny gardens and FOUR BINS, you can bet the people that thought it would be okay have drive ways and side gates lmao, and don't have FOUR bins blocking their doors! you have to pay 25 quid here aswell to replace it! and they fine you for using black bags :( one time i had a notice on my bin telling me if i did "it" again i would get a fine .. all i had done was put the wrong bin out on the wrong day !! just don't bloody take it lol.

It is upto the landlord to sort it out, when I moved last time I had no black bin and I rang up when they tried charging mei kicked up a fuss and they said its the landlords duty to make sure you have a way to get rid of your waste x

We have four bins as well its a joke...black brown green and blue....oh and a food waste mini bin inside the house :dohh:

I agree that it is your landlords responsibility. Alternatively, could you not steal your bin back in the night? :haha: It IS your bin after all!

Smething similar happened to us a while back when we moved in to our house. On collection day I was one of the last in the street to go outside and bring the bin backin and quickly realised that ours was gone. We lived in a small cul de sac of ten houses and ours was the only one without a number on it to identify which was which. Ayways, when we moved in we carved a number '6' into the lid so we always knew for sure which was ours. A few days later I was driving out of the street and one of the gardens in our street had OUR bin in it. So I just stopped my car and went into their garden and double checked for the number 6 on top and low and behold there it was, the cheeky swines. So I just pulledit out and went back across the road and put it back in our garden :haha: Didn't care who saw, it was OUR bin and they took it knowing full well it wasn't there own.

Landlords says its our responsibility :dohh:

We had a look but couldn't see it anywhere, I know which is my bin cus theres mud up the front of it and totally gross but when you open it, it absolutely stinks of cat pee as its where the cat litter has to go!

If we haven't found it by next week OH is gunna go out on collection day right after the bin men have been (hes off work next week so can wait for them lol) and go and try and get it back.

There's also the possibility that it could of fallen into the truck, apparently this happens a lot, so I have to call back in 5 days and see if the bin men have reported it but if it as I can't see them admitting it.

I think the system where I live must be pretty old fashioned because we don't have bins, we just put black bin bags out once a week and they will take however many you put out and leave you two free black bin bags in your letter box, lol!

Wish mine was like that, wheelie bins are such a pain!

for recycling, we take out cans, bottles, and glass one week, and papers and cardboards next week. this week is (soda) cans, bottles and glass. pick up is once a week

we have our number painted on ours, Wheelie bins are a pain, we only have 2 but the way our houses are they are all off from the road and we have to drag them all the way down the bath to where the car parks.
