I was wondering if anyone else used music to help them deal with their loss.

After my appointment when they first couldn't find a heartbeat, No Doubt's song "Don't Speak" was playing on the radio when I got back in the car. I know that's not what the song is about but the lyrics are still really fitting to me for my situation. I've been listening to it non-stop throughout this process.

Did anyone else find a song that helped them through it?

It sounds crazy, but the same song that helped me is one that was used at our wedding..

I just miscarried Monday night/ Tuesday Morning, after a painful night and early early moring I walked out of the bathroom and my husband held me opened the window as the sun was beginning to rise.. he started humming "here comes the sun"... to me it was sign of new beginnings and knowing that everything was going to eventually be okay..

I thinking of you.. :hugs:

I love that song. That was very sweet of your husband. I wish you the best with your healing!

I can see why "Don't Speak" would be perfect.

When I had my miscarriage a couple of years ago, these were the three songs I listened to the most:

-"wide awake" by Katy Perry
-"blown away" by Carrie Underwood
-"every storm (runs out of rain)" by Gary Allen

Obviously none of them are meant to be about miscarriages, but all three tapped into various emotions I was feeling at the time.

So sorry you're going through this - it really sucks.

Ed Sheeran small bump during my ectopic, and strangely enough it was ed Sheeran playing again when we were driving back from the hospital after my d&c for my MMC. His song bloodstream.. Although it's about drugs (?i think?) and not miscarriage, some of the words still seemed to fit.

Oh, no, no, don't leave me alone lonely now
If you loved me how'd you never learn?
Oh, coloured crimson in my eyes
One or two could free my mind
This is how it ends.
I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
Fading out again.
I feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
So tell me when it kicks in
Well, tell me when it kicks in
Well, tell me when it kicks in
All the voices in my mind
Calling out across the line

Tell me when it kicks in
I saw scars upon her
Tell me when it kicks in
Broken hearted

Felt like it described how I felt going for the d&c and being anaesthetised. I still think of my lost little one every time I hear it xxx

Sorry for your loss!
During my mc I listened to Avril Lavigne slipped away alot. To this day if I hear I think of my angel.

Ed Sheeran's Small Bump for me too. It came on whilst on way to our wedding reception, I miscarried just 3 weeks before and we were meant to announce our pregnancy at the reception during my husbands speech. To say I still cry when I hear that song is an understatement!!

But for me the one song I still have in my head that makes me think of my lost babies is Armin Van Burren's 'This is What It Feels Like':

Nobody here knocking at my door
The sound of silence I can’t take anymore
Nobody ringing my telephone now
Oh how I miss such a beautiful sound

And I don’t even know how I survive
I won’t make it to the shore without your light
No I don’t even know if I’m alive
Oh, oh, oh without you now
This is what it feels like

Nothing to hold but the memories and frames
Oh they remind me of the battle I face
without your love, without you I drown
Somebody save me I’m going down

And I don’t even know how I survive
I won’t make it down the road with one headlight
No I don’t even know if I’m alive
Oh, oh, oh without you now
This is what it feels like

Slipped Away by Avril Lavinge, My Hands by Leona Lewis and Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls helped me.

Sorry for your loss.

Gospel songs helped me through the losses along with other trials and tribulations in my life. One of my favorites is My Life Is In Your Hands By Kirk Franklin.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Music is helping me to heal. I also really liked "Let Her Go" by Passenger.

Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you’re missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go

Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast

You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go

Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
'Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast

Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
'Cause you loved her too much
And you dived too deep

Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go

And you let her go (oh, oh, ooh, oh no)
And you let her go (oh, oh, ooh, oh no)
Will you let her go?

'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go

'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go

Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go

And you let her go
