I was reading one of the threads on here about how her breastmilk was leaking out and I was wondering...

My mom was unable to produce breast milk. Is that kinda thing genetic?? Will I be able to breast feed my baby because thats what I really want to do and I've been doing a lot of stuff thats supposed to increase milk supply but it seems that my breasts have stayed the same size since they first grew (only a half a cup size) in the beginning of my pregnancy. So, will my breast milk come in later or should I start stocking up on formula??

girl i was flat then when they took her out csection style they just popped up in 2 hours no lie. milk and all..I dont about the genetic thing. Im so happy you want to. i loved it. Just try it bc everyone is different. I seen a lil colustrum like a week before but that was it..:hugs:

Im just worried is all. I want whats best for my baby. and breast feeding is supposed to help with bonding

dont stress out, stress dries up milk.

Im sure you will be fine. give it good faith effort (be prepared to feed every 2 hours!) and keep your chin up. You can buy formula if you want to, but to me its kinda like buying a prosthetic foot incase you have to have your foot cut off just cuz you got a scratch :) If you need help, feel free to ask. I breast fed my daughter for four months and my son for 18 :)

I can understand why you're worried, but all you can do is try :) my MIL couldn't breastfeed any of her 3 children, despite trying all 3 times, so my SIL was worried when she had a LO, as she really wanted to breastfeed but she had no problems at all, think she breastfed up to about 12 months x
