Sore nipples

I use the cream after each breastfeeding and pumping session but my left boob (nipple and boob are bigger) is always so sore. The little bumps on the areola are wuite swollen and raised. The last three days I bave been basically pumping exclusively except at night and several times a day. How do I prevent my little one from biting down so hard and twisting and turning with my nipples in her mouth?

One of my nipples is bigger than the other too and also at a different angle (hopefully that makes sense), and it was also the one that I have had the most trouble/pain with. His latch looked good, I always tried repositioning him. It's really only just getting to the point where it is comfortable and I think what has helped is just that his mouth is bigger now. He is 8 weeks.
