Sore Nipples!!!!

OH MY GOD!! My nipples hurt SO much!! Especially the right one!
It's so bad i've been thinking about giving up BF'ing altogether! I'm not going to but i've been seriously thinking about it!
Everytime he latches on it feels like someone is slicing my nipple with a knife (bit extreme i know) but thats honestly how it feels. It's so bad i burst into tears!
Callum is 15 days old. I thought the soreness would have gone by now? But it seems to be getting worse and the left is beggining to play up now too
I'm using boots own nipple cream and rubbing some milk into them after each feed but nothing is working!
Help!

Could it be his latch? If a baby does not latch on properly it will really make you sore.

I can just tell u too - check the latch. Cause breastfeeding shouldn't be sore. It's pleasure as it's ). But may be it's just cause u has never do it before and ur nipples haven't been used for this.
With ur nipples everything will be all right! U should just trust urself

check ur latch hunni. and maybe try rubbing the milk and letting it air dry or get some lanisoh (sp) cream its good for really sore nipples x

You must get some Lansinoh like Claire said - pricey but brilliant - the own brand stuff just doesnt compair.

You could express a few feeds hun to give them a rest?

Can I just say I really feel for you it is so horrible. I spent the first 2 weeks crying! I had this and then got mastitus in both sides and was very ill everyone says it shouldnt hurt but my theory is that you have to go through a bit of sore nipples at first even if you latch well. good news is though - mine are like leather now! Even if in the night he latches on badly it doesnt hurt too much!

Leave breast milk on them after a feed and air them it does work! I tried Kamilosan - wonder cream for everything but not sure how much it helps nipples to be honest.

Also sorry just to add - if you take paracetamol with codeine (safe to take) 20 mins before a feed it deadens the pain. I was told to do this by MW and it helped a lot just takes edge off!

Try putting some nipple cream to it. Brands like lansinoh are really good, albeit the latter is somewhat pricey. Wear hypoallergenic bras, breast shields. But, just to be sure, seek a professional's help.

Hiya,
My LO was born with tongue tie and he ripped my nipples to shreds bless him until it was cut then things strted improving.
Even now things are ok it still makes me wince a bit sometimes when he latches on and i think it will always make me wince!!
What helped me was using a nipple shield in 1/3 feeds and smothering my nipples in kamillosan. Also i used to just be topless when i was at home to help the air to heal them, this was really soothing as just wearing a bra was painful at my worst stage.
Try speaking to a midwife or breastfeeding counsellor to help with latching advice if its the latching on thats the problem.

Is there any white stuff on your nipples or in his mouth? I get that coz I have thrush. I didn't get the white stuff for a while after I got it so might be that. You can get stuff called Daktarin to put on your nipples before each feed (it's an oral thrush gel, i'm in Aus so don't know avail. in other countries) and also Nilstat to put in bubs mouth.
