how long would it take him to get there from school? if it doesnt take long he might make it in time for the 3 appointment? most doctors surgerys run late anyway lol.

If he isnt able to be there its not the end of the world sweeps arent that bad i promise. When i had mine my DH had to stay behind the curtain anyway so he couldnt hold my hand anyway. Plus the chances of anything happening on your due date even with a sweep are pretty thin your more likely to be early or even late!

Could you ask your midwife for an appointment while your oh is on his lunch break?

It would take him just under an hour to get to mine from his school :/
My midwife usually has her last appointment at 3, which is why I'm worried.

Now I think about it though, I'm pretty sure she only works at the surgery on a Monday, so for my due date she'd come to my house. Do you think if asked her, and explained the situation, I could get her to come at about half 4 ??

Or is that asking to much do you think ?

xx

i've never heard of a midwife doing a sweep at home so i really dont know. But maybe if you rang her and asked where the appointment would be and if she could do it after 3 you'd have a better idea of what you could do?

Don't panic - a sweep isn't scary! Just like an internal really. Half the time they don't even work, and if they do it will be a couple hours at least before things really gets moving. So it's not like he can't be with you for labour. You'll be OK, honest :flower:

If you go into labour hun will she let him off then??
xx

She reckons she would let him, but I'm honestly starting to doubt it.

I bet she would be like "the baby won't be here for hours yet, he can stay in school."

:dohh:

xx

Can't he just ignore her and come with you anyway?

She sounds like such a cow :grr:

Chick, she does sound like a total beyatch. It's not like he's only got to be there for when the baby pops out.... you want him there for YOU as well. She sounds like a bitter old hag. Try not to let her get to you. When you go into labour, he'll be with you one way or another. She won't be able to stop that.

It would cause way to much trouble unfortunately :/

She'd probs ban him from coming to mine to see the baby.

Yes, she is that evil :grr:

xx

If I was him hun, I would tell her he is going to be there for you in Labour school or not
xx

Ugghhhhhh! I hate stupid people like that! She needs to get a grip and stop acting like a wise a**! I wish you the best Sash and I hope baby Summer comes before then so, he can be there!

Could he speak to his teachers and explain?? He will be 16 after all! Grrrr she sounds and absolute bitch!!

Arrrrgghhhh what a bitch! Whats she going to be like after the birth and letting him see the baby? She seriously needs to realise that he's about to become a father and her childish nonsense isn't justaffecting him anymore!

omg hun im angry for you! How can she go on like that. She sounds like a serious cow!
i really hope for both of you she sticks to her word when you do go into labour (or hope its on a weekend!)

I just found out her reason for not letting him come with me

Her and his aunty didn't have anyone with them when they had sweeps.

WHO CARES?

I don't want to be on my own. I'm bloody terrified. There's no-one else who can go with me.
I want him to hold my hand :(

xx
Awww I would come with you if I didn't live half way around the world! lol *big hugs* :hugs:
