Alessas doctor has said we can try soy formula as she is having a lot of problems with regular formula...

Can anyone recommend a brand???

I am in Canada.

Anyone use Enfamil Soy?

She is almost out of her formula so we are going soon to pick some up!

Hi

Liam has a cows milk intolerance and is on Cow & Gate Infasoy on prescription. I find it a bit better than Aptamil that he was on before, but he does still have a few of the same symptoms. I don't know how it works in Canada but can you not get a prescription for the milk that the doctor recommends?
Btw I have read on the Cow & Gate website that babies that are allergic to cows milk protein can also be allergic to soy milk protein - so I guess it depends whether your doctor thinks Alessa has an allergy or an intolerance as to whether it will help.
I went back to my doctor as Liam was still having problems but he basically said there's nothing else we can try so he's just got to get used to it!

Hope that helps!

Hi. I've used Enfamil Prosobee Soy formula for my DD and never had any problems. It's a lot more expensive than Isomil soy brand I used with my DS 9twice as much actually). Both worked well. I chose Enfamil because of the ARA DHA enzymes that are found in BM.

I actually spoke to Cow & Gate (the manufacturer of Infasoy) and they told me babies shouldn't go on soy formula if they're less than 6 months - I've gone back to the doctor and been given a hypoallergenic formula called Aptamil Pepti.

Wow, this thread is a month old!

How did it work out for you?

We use Enfamil Soy as well here in Canada, liquid concentrate from wal-mart.

Well she has been on soy for awhile now, and while it doesn't fix all her problems she does eat it better. Eventually I am going to switch to enfamil lactose free and see if she does well on that! :)
