So after sitting in the OB/Gyn office I heard women chatter back and forth about using Soy Isoflavones as a natural alternative to Clomid. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? I've done a ton of research on the internet, but it's all a mixed bag.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this?

Good luck and baby dust to everyone!

This feels close to my heart this week as I began my first cycle taking a soy isoflavones supplement just a few weeks ago. I had had about 8 mos of very irregular cycles after coming off bcp - was tested for PCOS or other hormonal issues with negatives - but it still seemed like I wasn't ovulating regularly if at all (temped about 4 months, no opks though).

Anyway after a 67d cycle once I read more about soy and FINALLY got my period, I said what the heck? Went for it, took soy on CDs 3-7. Wouldn't you know it but yesterday CD17 got a major opk pos, and a temp spike this morning, so all signs point to OV! Sure, it could be a fluke, but I don't think it's a coincidence that my first clear OV was my first soy cycle!

My 'research' tells me, in my humble opinion, that if you have a moderately regular/consistent cycle with regular/consistent ov, than soy may not be for you. I read not only testimonials of soy ovs and soy BFPs, but stories where it threw off cycles that were already pretty regular.

I've rambled enough! Hope that helps, and good luck.

I took 80mg on CD1-5 because last cycle I didn't ovulate until CD48. This cycle I'm pretty sure I ovulated on CD23 or CD 30. My body tried to O around CD11 but that didn't work out. I didn't have any side effects. I wouldn't take them unless you're irregular. They increased my cm like mad! I had sooooo much around CD11. Still waiting to see if I have a BFP. I see faint lines but not sure if they're evaps or not. I recommend them :) xx

I ovulated cd 16 (I hope!). I got my first positive opk in 3 months. This was my first time taking soy....hoping for my BFP!

When I first came off BC i was ov on CD18, I agree not as late as some of you ladies but I looked into soy and thought it was worth trying to see if i could make less of a wait.

After a couple cycles trying different days and doses i now take 160mg CD3-5 and 200mg CD6+7 (my tablets are 40mg each). This brought my ov to a regular CD14. Unfortunately 2 weeks ago I had a misscarriage and was worried my cycles would then be all messed up.

I took the first day I started bleeding as CD 1 and continued with the soy. I am on CD16 today and got my first peak on my CBFM so should ov tomorrow, so it is a little late but i think that is to be expected.

I normally have 50+ day cycles, I took Vitex which gave me a 42 day cycle although I didnt ovulate. From there I took Soy and Vitex day 3 - 7 I ovulated around day 18 and had a 32day cycle (my shortest since having coil out 18months ago). This cycle I took it from day 1 - 5 without the vitex. I havent been temping for a while now just going by CM (I get a big snot then roughly 5-7 days later I Ov) I am day 35 now and still no sign of AF but no BFP either so I not sure what to make of it this cycle.

My recommendation is to consult an herbalist. SI can be very helpful, or it could possibly mess you up for several months. It depends on what's abnormal about your cycles, I think, I don't really understand it.
