Well, what a journey this pregnancy has been!
It was a hard pregnancy anyway. I had morning sickness for the first seven months and thought it couldn't get any worse. However...i was diagnosed after a second GTT test (due to glucose in my urine) with gestational diabetes. I was 33 weeks at this point and was told to adjust my entire diet. I was suddenly having to take my blood sugar 4 times a day and i felt so ill i didn't know how much more i could take. I felt like i was full term already and it was confirmed after a number of scans that i indeed was carrying an 81/2 lb baby and i was only 35 weeks at this point. My blood sugars were erratic regardless of moderating my diet so i was admitted in to hospital straight away. I was given two steroid injections to help the baby to breathe and given insulin through a drip to control my sugars. It was Tuesday the 18th and i was told that night that they were going to induce me on the Monday. It ended up being Tuesday before they broke my waters manually and then put me on a drip to start the contractions. To be honest i was already contractin on my own, but they wanted to make sure my birth was monitored and so induced me. I chose to opt for an Epidural. Best decision i made to be truthful, i had done with gas and air last time but my baby was a normal size in my first pg! After 8 hours of being on the drip i felt the urge to push regardless of the Epidural and 25 minutes later with no cuts, tears or stitches my perfect baby girl came out weighing 8lb 10oz....We named her Mya Jasmine and she is AMAZING!![URL=https://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/myal.jpg/][IMG]https://img853.imageshack.us/img853/8360/myal.jpg[/URL]
