Hey guys!!

Ok so really quick backstory (bulletpointed haha!)

- came off pill last year (March 2014)
(- no periods March - july)
- haven't ovulated since June 2014
- no real natural proper period since July 2014
- ultra sound & smear & internal showed nothing bad Oct 2014
- altho lots of spotting episodes and then a 21 day period in December which was stopped manually with a non-hormonal tablet as it was as heavy on day 21 as it was on day 1!!!
- meds to induce a period in January 2015 to trick body into ovulating.
- we are now March and have not ovulated nor had a period.
- feb - had another ultrasound & bloods both confirming I haven't ovulated!

March 25th I am going back to see specialist and hoping to get some more period inducing tablets and also something to help me ovulate as they now how proof I don't seem to be ovulating alone !

Anyone had meds like these? Similar problems? Do they work??

I had a very long cycle when ttc #1 and was given medication to bring on my period (provera) and then did one round of clomid and conceived my son.

Clomid is pretty commonly used and it sounds like it might help you, I guess it will depend on the Dr though.

Good luck!!

My dr prefers femara over clomid, it has less side effects.. I had really long annovulaorty cycles, I have pcos, we tried for a year, I spoke with myndr at my yearly exam, and he said lets try the femara. I am on cycle 4 trying it. It does make me ovulate, and virtually no symptoms, other than it lengthens my lp by about 4 days.
Clomid has more harsh side effects for some people. Ask your dr about both and see what they suggest. Good luck

Oohh ok thanks guys!! I don't care what they give me as long as it helps me ovulate and conceive lol! Haven't looked up the side effects yet, but scared to but if it helps!!!

I have been on both femara and clomid

clomid- risk of multiplies because this medicine not only makes you ovulate but can overstimulate and you can get more then one follicle (usually you get one without medication) This raises the success rate more because you have more than one egg you can catch. (This cycle I had 10!) This is why I get painful side effects because I have an easter basket of eggs I have to release! haha.. So some get worse side effects. Also has risk of cysts in some cases and thins some women's lining so have a hard time implanting. I have not have trouble with it, except side effects. Again better chance with it.

Femera- NO SIDE Effects... but mainly for me because femera will make you ovulate.. but usually.. just 1 good follicle, sometimes 2. Less chance of multiples. (Because less follicles) Does not thin lining, and no risk of cysts. But slightly lower success rate. and has not been approved to use for ovulation, just shows in research that is also helps with ovulation.

Again this is from my own experience, research, and what my Doc has told me, every women is different. Good luck! Hope you get the answers you are looking for!

Omg 10... Crazy!! How do you know how many eggs are being released?! So you personally prefer femera as no side effects? Can I ask what iui is (looking at your siggy)

Thanks for your reply!

I conceived my ds with clomid but was on it a whole year 50mg before i tried preseed with it as doc didnt mention one of side effects was it drying up your vm. Anyway conceived the last cycle on it with preseed & opks.

Second time i got pregnant first cycle so body must've started ovulating. Mmc though

Now ttc #2 again third cycle so hoping it happens but if not in another few months i'l be going back to discuss clomid again.

Does work but use preseed or evening promrose oil capsules etc for ewcm as it does dry you up

hmm... femera makes me Feel better...but clomid does the job better. Just personal preference. Right now I have severe cramps with clomid, but I know its working.. I know some who have gotten pregnant off femera, for me I just wasted me time though.

An iui- is where your partner gives a sperm sample and they insert it into my uterus through a catheder on ovulation day.

This is how my cycle works. day 5-7 clomid, day 13 ultrasound to check follicles (This is how I knew how many) This shows doc measurements so he can tell me when to give trigger shot. Day 15 Trigger shot at night, (This garentues my eggs will release) Day 17 Iui.. the dreaded tww. basically I have unexplained infertility. Could be I am ovulating but my eggs aren't releasing (Didn't know that could happen) so the trigger shot fixes that or it could by my mucus(Clomid sometimes dries you up, have pressed on hand!) or lack of is killing hubby sperm with its ph level. Which iui by passes all mucus. Where there is my infertility life! Haha Good luck I hope clomid is your fix! My advice is after 3 months seek other options on top of clomid to make your chance better.

Thanks guys! No idea what preseed is (i live in UK, dunno if can get it over here) but il look it up!
