That's so strange to me that y'all do spinals over there for vaginal deliveries! The only time I've ever seen a spinal done is for a c-section. For vaginal deliveries where I work, we only have (continuous/on a pump) epidurals, and they work even for forceps (rarely done anyway) and vacuum deliveries...And you would want an epidural over a spinal -- you can't move, let alone feel pressure to push with a spinal...

Normally I wouldnt want either, I had a long long labour with my son and they wanted it in as they thought i would need assistance, but it didnt work anyway,

This time I have to have one as they like you to deliver your twins in theatre as sometimes the second one has problems, my son was in distress before he was born and they had to get him out quickly. So with twins they like you to have either an epi or spinal so they can get the second one out quick if they need to, at least thats how it works here.

Being my last epidural didnt work (i had two and neither worked) they will prob first as last put in a spinal so that if something does go wrong they can get them out quick.

I know it hinders pushing etc, but I still feel I have a fair chance having delivered a baby that way before. Who knows though, at least if I cant and they need to do a section i can be awake!

Its funny how different countries do things differently though x

Hey there, I had a spinal last week for emcs, ibefore labour I was scares of the epidural and spinal due to loss of sensation. But at first my legs went warm and then numb, my body just felt warm. It was a relief for me as baby footling breech and back to back so my contractions were horrific, in the end I didn't care and I just want ed my baby out safely. Just to warn you, you might feel shaky after and also itchy. I did and I got an injection stop it. Overall it was a good experience
