Spotting after a bleed - how long is normal?

Ok, so had a bleed last Thursday/Friday. Two scans since then have showed my little fighter to be doing just fine but I'm wondering how long the aftermath is going to last. It's just faint watery brown discharge and the sonographer reassured me it's just old blood, but it's driving me nuts. I just want to see the back of it now as it's very unsettling....... :growlmad:

I had 2 lots of spotting and the second time lasted longer (a week or more) - the difference was - the first time I rested a lot, put my feet up, didn't go to work, didn't do much at all. The second time it lasted far longer I think because I decided to carry on working and I was treated for thrush with a pessary which seemed to aggravate it ....To reduce it i'd definitely recommend pelvic and general resting! hth x

Hmmm, I'm still at work, although to be fair I sit on my bum in an office, so it's not exactly strenuous? Everytime I think it's perhaps eased off completely a little more suddenly appears, and combined with the odd twinge here and there it's making me feel like I'm losing my marbles. It's all I can do not to go tearing off down to the ante-natal clinic like a madwoman and demand to be scanned..........

I just wish the damn spotting would stop, and then i might actually be able to chill out a bit :growlmad:

KatyKat - I know what you mean, I was never out of the ultrasound place during that time. Is the spotting reducing in quantity? While waiting for it to stop it might be worth focussing on things like that to at least see that there's some progresS? I noticed mine got less and got lighter and lighter in colour too...that was something even if it was still there. x

Thanks Linnypops, that's reassuring to know. We'll, I've now gone over 6 hours with no more spotting, which feels amazing. I probably need to go a few days before I totally relax, but it seems like there might be light at the end of the tunnel! :happydance:

Hurray! It's such a relief when it stops! Your little babe will be just fine, I have read so many studies and if the baby is fine after a bleed on an ultrasound then it's almost 100% that they're going to continue to be ok. x

With my rainbow I had a big bleed at 8 weeks followed by a small amount if spotting that only lasted for the evening. Then at 8 weeks I had a smaller bleed but spotted from that for two more weeks, it was horrible but everything turned out ok. Thinking of you lots x x
