I am around 5 weeks or so, I think... and being on our honeymoon (still), we made love several times.
Today, my husband was a little rough with his fingers and also intercourse, so after sex, I noticed lots of spotting on the towel and also bathroom.

No major cramping other than the regular twinges I have been getting, but both of us are a little worried, with him being completely scared that he did something horribly wrong.

Has anyone experienced bleeding/spotting after intercourse?

I bleed quite often while I was pregnant after we had sex. It didnt matter if he was rough or not. my doctor said that was normal just when it happens try and sit still and not to move much until you stop bleeding and you have time to clot. hope that helps. I know its but always scary, but try not to worry much :)

My only experience with spotting after sex was with my first pregnancy and I lost that baby. Now I don't think the miscarriage really had anything to do with it. It just seemed like a more fragile pregnancy in general and it seemed no matter what I did it caused spotting!!!

this time around I have had no spotting and we are having sex and I am doing everything I was doing before pregnancy besides mountain biking. So I think that spotting can be normal .... I just didn't have a normal pregnancy the first time.

My spotting has stopped within 2-3 hours of it... I was so scared! :(

Glad the spotting has stopped, keep an eye out though hun!

It is common hon, I spotted after sex a lot with my first it is due to the sensitivity of the cervix (or something like that...)

I spotted after sex. We DTD once a few days after my BFP (at about 13 DPO) and I had an orgasm. I immediately had some cramping and dull pain and started spotting light pink about 2 hours later. For two days afterward I had brown spotting, and was petrified. When I saw my OB he put me on pelvic rest (no sex at all) and said that when he does give us the green light to start having sex again, I still won't be allowed to have orgasms.

BUMMER.

We've had to get creative.

Has he/she told you how orgasm can actually have a negative effect related to that? I actually heard otherwise, that orgasm strengthens your cervix.

Yes, my OB is a bit... old-fashioned and claims that orgasm can lead to cramping and premature labor. Of course I've heard and read otherwise, but he's sticking to his opinion and who am I to go against his word? He's a good Dr and since he's erring on the side of caution he already has my vote because he has my and my baby's best interests at heart.

its normal if he was rough just tell him to take it easier next time

I'm 9 weeks and a week ago we had normal (not rough) sex, immediately after I noticed my husband was covered in bright red blood and I had quite a bit on my thighs. I freaked out and cleaned off and called the emergency line for my OB clinic. I was told to relax, clean up, and monitor the bleeding. If it stopped bleeding, I was not needed to go in, but she said if I continued to bleed, or started up again, I was to go in to the ER immediately. I didn't bleed anymore so I made myself relax and not think of it. A few days ago we had very slow, gentle sex and only a faint tint of pink for a few minutes after, but nothing like that first night a week ago. It seriously looked like a hamster had been murdered :nope: I don't have a scan until the 13th, so I really hope everything is okay in there. But as for the lady who is still spotting, I would get in to see a doctor asap if I were you. That was the advice given to me on the phone by the on-call doctor, and it really is better to be safe! Best of luck! :hugs:

You girls are incredible... the support here is fantastic!
I am not spotting anymore, the discharge that I get is of cream color... if that makes any sense?
Anyone having this?

yep i had this 2 days ago, my bf and i didn't leave the bed over the entire weekend and just enjoyed ourselves.. we're not on a honeymoon but acting like it.. and i got this little creamy brownish discharge too, but it all ok...
..with all that increased blood flow rushing to your cervix and uterus and vagina, it is normal that some small capillaries break and that you start spotting... as long as there are no real hard core pains and cramps it is all ok :)

and yeah i also heard from my friends who already have kids that sex generally strenghtens the cervix and the vaginal muscles and should even ease the delivery.. to my bff, the ob/gyn LITERALLY said, when she asked about the sex: well my dear, NOW it is time to exercise more then ever, you'll need all of it later believe me..
