It hasn't happened yet and I am not sure that it will but it has me thinking. I started metformin 500 mg a day on 4/22/14. On 4/23/14 I started spotting, pink, and only when I wiped. It lasted for 7 days. I seen OB on 5/8/14 and she upped the metformin to 1000 mg a day starting 5/9/14 which I still take. She said the spotting means the metformin is definitely doing something but once I started the higher dose it might do more. She gave 6 months worth of provera, 10 days each, for when I was ready since I hadn't had AF since 2/2013, from provera as well. Well I decided to start the provera on 6/1/14 since AF still hadn't shown with the metformin. On 6/10/14, last day of provera, I started spotting, not pink but regular spotting. CD2 was regular flow, CD3 and 4 were heavy, clotty, and crampy.CD5 was regular flow again and today is CD6 which is mild spotting, so it is almost over. YAY! Anyways, I have taken provera numerous times and have never cramped. They are always clotty and heavy though and I have never started while taking the pills, usually 3-7 days after the 10th pill. So, it got me thinking. Since I started the 1000mg a day of metformin on 5/9/14, by the time I started AF it had been 32 days, which would be a good time to start AF again. I hadn't thought about it before. What if, the AF I am finishing is a natural one, not from provera and in a few days I start AF again from the provera. Is that possible? And there is no way for me to know if this none was natural or provera induced... I suppose the only thing to do is wait... any opinions or advice? I would be grateful!! Thank you and good luck!
Oh, I also take levothyroxine 75mg a day for hypothyroidism.
