Spotting

Last night about ten o'clock when i went to the toilet there was about three spots of blood on the toilet roll. I went to the toilet again at two o'clock this morning and again there was one spot of blood. Since then i have been to the toilet three or four times and there has been nothing when i have wiped.

I don't feel poorly and im not really feeling baby move yet so couldn't say if movements were normal - would you ring the midwife? Triage? or just see if it re-starts? Dont really know what to do!!

ETA - im 18 weeks and three days pregnant

Id def ring midwife

It prob is nothin as u get further along ur cervic becomes more sensitive and spottin small like u sd usually isnt a a worry but always good to check xx

I've had spotting a few times this pregnancy and i've phoned in. They wanted to check me over in day assessment when it happened a few days ago (but I am rhesus negative). Hope all's ok x

I had spotting this past weekend and called my OB. They had me come in for an ultrasound just to be safe, but they couldn't see any reason for the spotting. It is scary to see, though!

Hi all, just wanted to update. I went to triage this afternoon and they couldn't see where the bleeding was coming from and my cervix was still closed. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time too!

Hi Natasha....oh gosh no,still being sick!! Only once a day now but still have constant nausea!! I think ive just got used to it now!! Thanks for asking, hope your pregnancy is going all ok xx

Thanks everyone, I forgot how scary second trimester is when your not quite feeling movements and you have a while to your next scan!

I have had 2nd trimester spotting with my 2nd child and with my 3rd! My first was at 19 weeks, light spotting, pink, and the exact same with this one, at 18 weeks!

So weird! I guess because all the blood flow down there some blood vessels burst and it causes a bit of spotting, because each time after a scan my cervix was firmly closed and the baby was perfect.
