Hi everyone - was hoping for a little advice re our 1 month old baby, Harry.

I know that babies get spots, and since birth Harry has always had one or two every day which normally disappear by the next day and are replaced with another one or two in a different place. However, yesterday he got loads of spots on his chin and jaw line and today there are more. I breastfeed Harry (if that makes any difference?), clean his face every day and he's never left with milk/sick on him. Anyone have any ideas what this could be??

Another thing I could mention is that last night he seemed very out of sorts and was crying a lot during the evening for no apparent reason. He kept bringing his legs up and seemed as though he was in pain and I thought he might have some trapped wind. I gave him some gripe water and he had a bath and seemed much better. However last night he woke at 3am and would not settle - wasn't hungry/hot/cold/nappy. We gave him a dummy which would settle him, but it would fall out a few minutes later and he'd wake crying again. I ended up bringing him downstairs at 4am and cuddled him on the settee until he finally fell asleep. He's been very grouchy/gripey today too, wanting lots of cuddles and comforting. He was also quite hot this morning and developed a heat rash in his hair. Could he be poorly?

Any advice would be really appreciated :)

Hello. If he is bringing his legs up it does sound like wind, toby used to be a nightmare when he was smaller for bringing his wind up and we used to use infacol on him which helped him a lot. Did u happen to take his temperature when u noticed he felt hot? If he still seems out of sorts tomorrow I would maybe just get him checked over by the doctor as he is still so little. I hope he is better soon xx

Thanks for your reply. I have used Infacol before when his wind seemed particularly bad and it helped. He never seems to get very burpy, but is very trumpy! I can spend half an hour burping him and only get 1 good burp out. I'll give Infacol another go I think. Thanks again.
