squirting everywhere

how am i going to BF in public my boobs seem to be squirting milk everywhere and jack cant seem to keep up with the flow. also leaking through my breast pads much quicker then normal. whats going on?????

I don't really know because i'm not there yet but i have read some stuff. R u expressing after the feed? That might help stop leaking?

i seem to be having the same problem and i've only been doin it just over a week when i take chloe off my boob for a breather it just drips like a tap, really undignified lol

I used to be the same for the first few weeks - every feed he'd struggle to keep up, let go and we'd have fountains squirting across the room! It gets better though - never happens now unless something distracts him right at the start of a feed and he tries to laugh/smile and accidentally comes off! x

Sounds to me like your demand/supply balance has gotten a little off. I would think it will just clear up in a few days or if you need it I would pump off the excess for the freezer.

I had this for ages, try not to pump unless you need to keep it as it'll fool your breasts into thinking that your baby is needing that much. You can express a little before your feed or try some more upright feeding positions. I never bothered though, I found that if I quickly put my finger on the leaking or squirting nipple and applied a bit of pressure then the flow quickly stopped. He may have upped your supply to cope with a growth spurt, I always find that I start leaking again once Kaya's had a bit of a spurt. Has he been feeding a bit more than often?

Meant to say that I always used to keep a breast pad or muslin next to me to hold over it until the fountains stopped so that Sam didn't get a faceful of milk! x

Whilst breastfeeding my first Lewis, we were once at DH's friends house in a room full of people. I decided to check my breastpad, so i pulled my top down slightly, and peered down my top, only for a fountain of milk to squirt out into the room full of people. I didn't know i had such good reach!! Nobody noticed though, and i still have a chuckle about it now. LOL

That will go away eventually, when your supply catches up with what the baby eats. The only time I squirt now is when she pulls off in the middle of sucking, but that's just a little bit. My breast pads are hardly ever even wet anymore.
