started provera today!

AF started this morning! the cramps woke me up at 4am! ugh but thats normal. I get bad cramps.
I have noticed though that the flow is very heavy. much heavier than when i get periods 3 times a year. so hopefully it will do the trick!

Hello so happy AF came for you! Lets hope and pray it resets your cycles so you can start cycling and ovulating on your own! I am going to wait two weeks after last bd take a pregnancy test and then start it. I know the chance of it hurting an early pregnancy is very slim and the chance I could even be pregnant even slimmer but I just don't feel comfortable starting w/o being over the top cautious! Keep me posted please and let me know if it resets your cycles!

I have a question, how long after your last provera pill did AF arrive? I have been on 10mg - 3x a day for 10 days and today being my last day on cd74. so Im hoping it wont take long before the witch arrives! then on cd 2 I go onto letrozole. LETROZOLE is similar to Clomid.

Hey All, I've been stalking too! To answer your question my experience was it took about 5 days after I took my last pill to start. It completely caught me off guard. Cuz the first time I took it, it didn't work so I thought it wasn't going to work again. LOL Big Surprise. I also will say after going 2 years without a period, it has almost been reset I get to start Clomid in a couple days!

"I finished school last year" with a degree, but am going another year to treat cancer (radiation therapy).. finals are a nice distraction

Provera itself doesn't cause ovulation the doctors have told me...
I have periods like once every like year and a halfish or less ...
Provera...causes withdrawal bleeding, however if you do fall pregnant, and you know you have low progesterone please listen to me when i tell you to please please please INSIST that they check your progesterone level.. that is so important for a healthy pregnancy...
Beware though, when I took progesterone and was pregnant (they found out wayyy to late that i needed it) it made me hold on to the baby longer than I should of ( I miscarried due to low progesterone) .. you cant pass the baby until you are off the progesterone so my gyno told me to beware of any pregnancies while taking progesterone because it causes unhealthy pregnancies to "stick" past the point they should..

I honestly dont take mine because it still didnt cause withdrawal bleeding, the only thing that ever worked for me was vitex..
I got pregnant right away, but they didnt listen to me when I told them I DONT MAKE PROGESTERONE.. and the one day 3 weeks later got a panicked call saying "you should have been on progesterone we have a script waiting for you get it filled today!"

Thanks for feedback it helps to hear others experiences. So sorry to hear about your m/c it is hard! I will have to do come research and talk to my local Herb Store about vitex. And yes I am so glad I have school to take my mind off things!!

Hello Ladies,

So last Thursday I went for a pelvic ultrasound and today the Dr. called me back with results and I am now officially dx with PCOS but I knew that was coming. So my uterus looks fine not tilted and lining is thin but since I don't cycle/ovulate at all that is to be expected as I don't have the hormones fluctuating to tell it to grow and then shed. My ovaries are enlarged and have small cysts surrounding the outer edges.

The plan is to take Provera and after I get my false AF to call her and schedule an apt so we can regroup and talk about options.

I was very very very nervous that Provera would harm a pregnancy if in early stages as we were BDing a ton w/o protection but the Dr. assured (and then reassured me three more times during our phone call) that it will not harm a pregnancy and to go ahead and start it. I can take a pregnancy test to see if I am pregnant but until I reach the two week mark of last BD it wont show up on HPT. I could do blood work also if I wanted but opted not to. I highly doubt I am pregnant and started Provera this morning. (If I wait any longer to take Provera AF will come right during finals but since I started today it should come during week off for Thanksgiving...I am on 2 pills a day for 5 days)

So I am praying this round of Provera works! Soooo excited and nervous

Yaaah PCOS... you and me both! It sucks! Weird things growing where they shoudn't like cysts on ovaries, hair on face and hair on the head thinning and balding at the crown...depressing! That is what i started experiencing since 3 years ago.
Good thing you atleast know your condition instead of speculating and can research on how to deal with it.

BTW, i really love your foot note from psalms 113, it ministers to me every time i read it!

Yes this is def a hard time...my hair is thin on top of my head and I need to get my sideburns, chin area and upper lip waxed roughly every two weeks! This scripture helps me- Proverbs 31:30

Also did AF show yet for you? Besides Provera what else is Dr. doing to help you conceive?

First Soy Iso can help with ovulating but it has to be taken at such high doses he is wary of it. Soy has been linked to Breast Cancer.

Second there are several things to help a women get her period but he personally recommends a special tea he makes. Since I started Provera today I wont start tea until next month but do wish I did tea first then tired Provera ($2 for a couple weeks worth)

Third he has heard positive about the Vitex-esp in helping women conceive. He does not carry it but recommends looking into it.

There is more he can offer me but it started to get crowed and I didn't want the whole town knowing my business so I am going to go back and take a notebook with me and he will make some more recommendations.

I am personally thinking of going the all natural route once I get a period with Provera...but it does take more time so am I patient enough to let the herbs work? Anyone else want to weigh in??

I actually have never found a vitamin store that doesnt carry some sort of Vitex...if they have any types of fertility blends thats normally the main ingredient.

Provera wont help you get a BFP it just causes bleeding which one good period before pregnancy might help the linig. Are you interested in clomid? Because if you tell them your ttc they will likely prescribe you that. I will only resort to that if all else fails.

Lastttlly, look into low carb dieting for TTC.. Even if its just for a month like when youre trying the vitex it works for so many people with PCOS. It seems to kick them into ovulation.

Hi everybody. Just thought I would share my experience, and ask for thoughts. I took provera before conceiving my son back in 2011. It worked great, I got af around 3 days later. Unfortunately I miscarried in September and haven't had an af yet. It's been a week since stopping provera this time, and still no af. Anyone have it take a long time, or not have it work at all?

It's starting to... It wanted to start around cycle day 32 but was not a full on flow so the doc wanted a flow before I started the clomid so he prescribed provera again and I am currently on day 3.

Hey there... Random thought... just found out your in nursing school and I am too!!

Well in total I have been on 4-5 round of clomid this year. After the 4th round I started to have spotting but not an actual "flow". The doc just put me on another round to get the flow started again then I'll be taking clomid on Day3.
