starting on clomid soon. questions!

heygirls,

so i am starting on clomid in 2 days. will be starting on the dose of 50mg, for days 3-8.
i was just looking on these forums here and notice that some ladies also take provera, and some others are also having the hcg injections on top of the clomid...
my gp said to just take the clomid and then TTC as normal - ie plenty of sex around my ovulation day.

can i ask what is the provera for?
and those people on provera, did you start it on cycle 1 of clomid, or later on.

any other tips? have you girls had many side effects from the clomid? did you find you still ovulate on the usual day or a bit earlier? i usually ovulate on day 21 so wonder will this make my cycle a bit shorter.

Provera is a medication used to boost progesterone i think, it can also be used to make a withdrawel bleed happen if your AF cycle is all over the place.

I took Provera for 10 days, 3 tablets a day to make a withdrawel bleed happen, it didnt and so i was told to wait another 10 days to see if it did, again it didnt so then I was given Clomid.

I have taken Clomid days 2-6 for the first time. The only side effect I had was hot flushes and they were more inconvienient than anything.

I finished taking Clomid Sunday and started using OPK's from wednesday, still no ovulation/LH surge yet and with it being my first time of taking it I dont know what will happen next.

I have an internal scan booked also within 10-14 days of starting Clomid so they can see whats happening. I havent had any OV symptoms or signs and im guessing next month I shall be double dosing and taking 100mg a day instead of 50mg but we shall see.

Clomid is suppose to help induce ovulation.

When I took clomid is was 50mg for cd 5-10. And I didn't ovulate on that. But sideeffects I had were headaches and constipation.

I'm on my second cycle of clomid, I was on 50mg cd 2-6 the first cycle but when I went for my follicle scan they were very small still I eventually O'd cd 20 which is still very early for me it unfortunately ended in bfn. This month I've been on 100mg and had a lovely big follicle when I was scanned, I o'd cd17 my earliest ever! I'm 8dpo now so I have everything crossed. The only side effects I've had are the hot flushes and in the first cycle I had a terrible migraine, I was expecting much worse so I'm really pleased x
