Had my first steroid injection today ready for my early elective section in 2 weeks. The midwife said 'in not gonna lie to you this will really sting' oh my gosh she was right. And I have to go back for another tomorrow. I know it's for the best and it's gone now by this evening but thought I'd share incase anyoneelse has them coming up . It wasn't the end of the world but it did bring a tear to my eye

ouch ouch ouch they do sting. But I actually found the anti clotting jabs they give in hospital were far worse! Hope everything goes ok.

Thanks. I hated the anti clotting jabs after my first section but I thought this was worse maybe it's just my memory had faded. I remember the Midwife teaching me how to do them myself into my swollen jelly belly. She said aim for about an inch to the side of your belly button. Yeah right as if I could find that!!

I had 2 lots they damn well hurt ! I found the anti clotting ones fine as my tummy was still numb x

Can I ask you ladies, is the steroid shots necessary at 38+ weeks when it's a planned csection? This is my 3rd baby, and will be my 2nd section. Didn't have the steroid shots last time

I was told that before 37 weeks now it's standard and some places they do up til 39. But that is why they have moved most elective sections to 39 weeks where they possibly can.

I had both before my section, but I don't remember them hurting much. Probably because I was so loopy on magnesium sulfate. Never want to be on that again.
