My doctor said it was fine. I pretty much cut our refined sugar except special occasions, and I don't do artificial sweetners, so being able to have stevia would be nice. Has anyone else asked about this? Dr said it was fine and I know fda has approved it here in the US. I see so much conflicting opinions online, but i also notice that a lot of that is from years ago. Just wondering if anyone else has some insight. I was kinda avoiding it, but just started taking a magnesium supplement drink that has it in it. Anyone have thoughts or experience with stevia during pregnancy?

I use it and its fine. I use a bit in a coffee or on my porriage. Use it in moderation and you'll be fine. Its a lot better than refined sugar or sweetners. Its natural. My midwife said its perfect as a sugar substitute :)

Thank you! I still can't find anything bad about it, so I guess that is a good sign!

I would never take an artificial sweetener. The chemicals used to process the stevia are harmful. And they are said to be carcinogens.

I wouldn't do artificial either, but stevia is not artificial. I have read that if you get pure stevia without anything added, there are no chemicals involved (like in sweetleaf brand) Have you heard differently?

Stevia is safe to use. I just wish I wouldn't get so nauseous from the after taste. It's got a different taste than other sweeteners though.
