Still bleeding....

Ladies,

Some of you may know I've just experienced my 2nd mc in 6 months. I had an ERPC 11 days ago, to be honest, against my wishes, but the doctors have agreed to investigate (I'm nearly 40 - so time is short) they wanted to collect clean tissue for testing. They also suspect that I may have had a Partial Molar as my HCG levels were pretty high.....certainly higher than they should have been for the stage I was at. My histology isn't back for a few days.....apparently I was inconsiderate enough to have it all over a month with double bank holidays!

This was my 2nd ERPC.....my first 6 months ago after my first mc. After that one I bled, spotted really, for only a few days, 6 or 7 at the most. This time my bleeding hasn't lessened, turns old and dark only to go back to red a few hours later, and is (sorry if TMI) slightly watery looking, like it is mixed with some slight clear secretions.

To be honest I'm struggling to come to terms with it all this time. I'm petrified I will need a 3rd D&C or methotrexate and scared still if that is the case that I've lost my chance of my much wanted baby now, because of my age and I just want it all to be OK, but I'm really thinking something isn't right. I spoke to the hospital this morning who said they would prefer to check me out, and I'm going in on Wednesday if its no better.

I know there are a host of you in here who have experienced ERPC after loss, and some molar......how long did you have fresh blood for? It isn't what I'd term as heavy (doesn't soak a pad within an hour) but its like fresh mild gushes every few hours.

Maybe I have an infection? Maybe its normal, but each ERPC differs? Maybe it is typical of molar, which I can't rule out. I'd love to know if any of you can shed any light on it....as I struggling to get past this at the moment. I just find it hard to believe that fresh blood is OK 11 days on? Any experiences would be appreciated....

Hey sweety

I had an ERPC last November and all I remember was how heavy, bright and painful the bleeding was. I dont really remember bleeding any more than 10 days by which time it had lessened but was still clotty (sorry if tmi) but I picked up a norovirus instead from the lovely hospital so was not only in pain from the op but feeling like sh*te too.

You have done the right thing by monitoring what is going on and for making an appointment if you sense something is not wrong.

All I do know that it knocked me for six 2nd time around (1st time no op). I took 3 weeks off of work and my wonderful mum looked after me whilst OH was at work.

Six months on, my periods are erratic (either heavy or scanty) and my cycle is getting shorter and I am sure it is to do with the op.

I know everyone is different but having ladies who have been through something similar has no doubt helped me in times of darkness.
